Date: 10/21/2024 Complaint: Signed and accepted written negotiation and verbal agreement on a 2020 **** Transit Connect that they had for sale, but then ended up canceling the deal unless I paid them an extra +3000 dollars. Also, they verbally told me on the phone there was no additional fees associated with their cars, I drove 3.5 hours, took time off of work myself, and so did 2 of my family members, only for them to tell me there was 4,500$ excess in fees + taxes + title + registration that I owed on top of the selling price. They scammed me out of my time, they scammed me out of my money in driving there and paying for gas and tolls, and they went back on a signed written and verbal agreement. We agreed on an out the door price of ******. We signed it, verbally agreed to it, and shook hands. Manager approved of the price. After this, the manager called back the sales associate and said they made a mistake and that they can't sell the car for ****** they can do around ******. They then counter offered to ******, but refused to accept the ****** or even ****** that I offered them. I've never seen a business act in this way. I feel cheated of my time, of my money, and out of a signed written and verbally accepted offer.Business Response

AFTER SPEAKING TO THE MANAGER AND SALESPERSON, THEY GAVE THIS CLIENT A VERY FAIR NUMBER. STILL, HE WANTED TO PAY LESS THAN THE ADVERTISED PRICE, WE COULD NOT ACCOMMODATE THIS AND EVEN SHOWED HIM. HE WAS BROUGHT OVER TO THE OFFICE AND SHOWED THE **** THAT HIS OFFER WOULD INCUR, AS A BUSINESS OWNER HE SHOULD HAVE COMPREHENDED. AFTER ALL THAT BECAUSE OF HIS TRAVEL INCONVENIENCE I WAS PREPARED TO TAKE A $1500 **** WHICH HE REFUSED. AT THIS POINT THERE WAS NOTHING WE COULD DO..Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
The business owner has not addressed any of the issues. I'd like to go through his response, sentence by sentence and break it down.
The business said: "AFTER SPEAKING TO THE MANAGER AND SALESPERSON, THEY GAVE THIS CLIENT A VERY FAIR NUMBER". This is not true at all. The price of the car was listed as ******. They wanted me to walk out of the door at over ******. That is not a fair price. That is ***** in fees. Taxes+title+tags would've cost around *****, so they were trying to charge me over ***** in just extra fees. Mind you, the sales person specifically told me there would NOT be any more fees besides the taxes+title+tags. This company tried to force me to buy an anti theft system of +***** that I didn't want nor was it advertised, and they also tried charging a certification fee +*****, there should not be a certification fee that is added onto the sale price. The car is either certified or not, there shouldn't be an ADDITIONAL charge for a certification fee that someone can not CHOOSE to purchase. They tried to charge me a destination fee of I believed 695, the car's Carfax report showed it never left the state of **, so why am I paying a FORCED destination fee for something that didn't get shipped. Used cars are not supposed to have a shipping destination fee because they're bought at auction or traded in. Again, these are just some of the fees they tried to charge me, these Fees were not disclosed to me at all prior to driving there.
The business said: "STILL, HE WANTED TO PAY LESS THAN THE ADVERTISED PRICE, WE COULD NOT ACCOMMODATE THIS AND EVEN SHOWED HIM." The advertised price was ******. They were trying to sell me the car for out the door over +******. This is very clearly a false statement by the owner. The car was being sold for much more than the advertised price.
The business said: "HE WAS BROUGHT OVER TO THE OFFICE AND SHOWED THE **** THAT HIS OFFER WOULD INCUR, AS A BUSINESS OWNER HE SHOULD HAVE COMPREHENDED". As a business owner myself, it is not my responsibility to comprehend bad business practices, making mistakes, going back on verbal and written agreements, and lying to the customer. EVEN IF I did business with someone, if I made a mistake after I and the customer agreed upon a deal, I would still take a loss because as a man of my word and a man of honor, I would not do my customer wrong like that. Please keep in mind, the salesperson did not tell me about any of these additional fees, I drove hours to see the car, I took off of work and had to inconvenience others to bring with me, they tried to sell me a ****** car for over ******, they negotiated down to ****** out the door, we signed the purchase order, we shook hands, we made a deal, and afterwards they tried to go back on their deal. As a business owner, I could never comprehend such activities.
The business said: "AFTER ALL THAT BECAUSE OF HIS TRAVEL INCONVENIENCE I WAS PREPARED TO TAKE A $1500 **** WHICH HE REFUSED". "Another clearly falsified claim by the owner. The car was listed at ******. They tried to agree on an out the door price of +******. There is no way they were losing ***** on that deal. That means they needed to sell a car listed at ****** for ****** to breakeven. That is false. This business is led by unfaithful people who are trying to scam innocent people of their time and money. Please look at their reviews online and see that nearly every real review indicates their absurd fees. They tried to take advantage of me and my family because we had driven so far to see the car. Businesses like this should be shut down.
I either would like for the business to sell the car for the agreed upon deal which was ****** out the door. OR I would like reimbursement for all the expenses I and my family incurred to travel to this business and have our time wasted.
Regards,
****** *********Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:
Reasonable shouldnt be the term to set up future business between. It should be what we agreed upon and signed for. If your verbal and written agreed upon word can not be trusted, then how can we agree on what is reasonable.Id either like the car we were negotiating for at the price we agreed upon (****** out the door), an identical car (year, make, trim, mileage) for the agreed upon price, or a reimbursement for me and my teams time and expenses to visit your dealership. You were going to lose money on the deal apparently, just send over a check for how much you were to lose, that will cover me and my teamss time and expenses.

DONT BUY FROM CAR REVOLUTION!I came into look at a Pacifica listed for $22k We agreed on an out the door price of $25K after a lot of negotiation and they said I would have to get a loan for them to get commission and profit for that price I agreed despite wanting to pay in cash. I agreed to put $5k down. I asked a few times the remaining balance would be $20k and they said yeah it will be there in the end. We negotiated and test drove for a couple hours and after making a deal had to sit and wait another couple hours. After signing dozens of papers there was one with the price break down that made it look like the price was $25k but they made that the price of the loan and just added my down payment to the price for extra fees and taxes after the price though it was only listed at $22k, so it was over $29k in the end. When I tried resolving this with them they always said I needed to talk to the sales manager I negotiated with and every time I tried to talk to him he was sick or had the day off. Then another sales manager hung up on me and said hey you signed the paper.I have filed a case with the ************************ and the New Jersey Consumer affairs. We are starting a Law suite against them so this doesnt happen to others. If you had had similar misleading negotiations and practices please contact me zchmiller @ gmailBusiness Response

I drove 6 hrs to the dealership. i told the salesman ********** that i did not want any optional costs added to my sale. while i was on the phone with my insurance company he decided to put the forms under my pen that included extra insurance i did not want. i have been asking him for weeks to correct his immoral act. this is yet to happen. i have asked to talk to his manager but he won't put them on the phone. i even asked him directly over 4 times where to take the vehicle if i wasn't happy with my purchase. it has been weeks and i have not heard that answer. i believe he is waiting for the milage to be over the return limit. I am now getting extra insurance bills because of his actions. i am now having to pay 2 companies for the same insurance needs because of the sale. I have a witness that heard me say noy to add any optional items to the sale. i also have someone who hear heard the salesman ********** say he would make things right.Initial Complaint

I purchased a car from this dealership and the price listed was $21,281, They made me sighn on an I pad and wasnt given the paperwork as now its digital, after I got home I looked at the paperwork and the price or the loan was $$32,698, when I called them they said that they added some add ons and that they will call me in 3 months so that we can refinance the load and lower my apr. I have been trying to get a hold by calling and I am getting the run around ffor the past two months now, I get the sales agent who makes appointments for me to go see him to sit down and talk numbers to refinance, but the firtst appointment he made it on his day off and of course wasnt there. they dont pick up the phone for me anymore and the manager is never available even when I leave him messages he does not call me back. I tried doing my own refinancing and everywhere I go they tell me that the car is overpriced and they can not help me refinance this amount as the car is only worth about $15,000. I am making payments of $659.00 and half of it is going towards the loan and the rest is just interest, when I finish paying for this loan I would had bought the car twice if not more than that and I need help trying to get this people to answer me and help me out with this.Business Response

On November 18th 2023, I went to this said dealership to trade in my **** Lexus NX for a 2023 Tesla Model Y that I saw online. They agreed to give me $49,000 for my car and in exchange I pay $4,297 for ******** taxes and additional $4,000 for the Tesla. I got pre approved for a loan with Santander that day so at the time, there was no contract to sign yet. A few days later, a contract was generated and I was not made aware of it, nor was it forwarded to me for my signature but somehow the loan documents were signed. According to the dealership and Santander, I now owe $18.8k instead of the $8,000 that was agreed upon verbally- I also had a witness with me that can attest to this. I did not agree to trade in my brand new car just to pay almost near $20,000 for another one. Anytime, i tried to speak to management or their finance department they are always in a meeting and can not come to the phone. I want what was agreed upon. *** (who sold me the car) also assured me there would be no penalty for paying off early, but I also have an early payoff penalty. Not only is this dealership not true to their word, they also scam you out of insane amounts that you do not agree too. I really wanted the car and they saw opportunity to take advantage of that.Customer Answer

the sales associate, ************* from Car Revolution *********** ** sold me my 2021 ************** I have contacted them almost daily after my purchase (9/22/2023) to obtain a copy of all of my purchase documents. On September 22, 2023, directly after the purchase was complete, I requested a copy of all of the purchase documents, *** replied that he would send everything over electronically, This NEVER OCCURRED. It has been close to three weeks and in spite of many phone calls and texts, I have not received the requested documents. When I call you directly or try to get hold of a manager I am put on outrageously long holds and ultimately never being contacted. Moreover and most importantly, ******** I am financing through is stating that I purchased the above vehicle for $52, ******, which is TOTALLY FALSE. I never agreed to this number, the car was advertised as well as the documents that were explained directly to me the day of purchase stated $31,981. I know there are additioanl fees outside of the car cost but 20 grad more????? ************* presented the warranty as if it was free of charge and came with every car. Never disclosing additional cost..... He also stated on teh phone that an error was found and promised to have his manager call me back and that they would fix the error and this HAS NOT OCCURRED.Business Response
