BUYER BEWARE!! PLEASE READ...I wish there was a way to put ZERO STARS. Home Protection of America is the worst. I will be canceling my plan because they just want to collect people's money without fulfilling the purpose of being protected, if something in your home goes wrong. It's one thing to have to take pictures for serial number purposes, etc., but to also be requested to provide videos, after the service provider has already left and given the warranty company their bid, is another thing altogether. Then, if you provide the video they requested, they come back with yet another request, etc., etc. They tell you to use your professional contractor, but then question everything the contractor is saying to the point of nauseum, even after all the pics and videos have been provided to them, to support what the professional contractor indicated on their quote to fix the problem. This warranty company does not want to pay for anything, and when they tell you they are going to pay a portion of the claim, you do not receive the reimbursement they stated they were going to pay. I know of no other warranty company that treats their consumers this way. I also contacted the **************************** that have provided assistance to me, but this company really has no care what the ************************* has to say either. So, I am leaving this review so people will know how awful it is to deal with this company. I would never recommend this company to anyone!!

I have had a few Home Warranty Companies over the past 25 years. This company is by far the worst. Failure to communicate and follow through. They approved my 90 year old mother's claim 2 months ago after being obstreperous and ridiculous for weeks. They said check would be issued shortly. Its been 3 months. No check. No response. No answer to calls or emails. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Dear ****************,We sincerely apologize for the frustration and dissatisfaction you experienced regarding the recent claim on your furnace. Upon review, we confirmed that the claim was authorized in accordance with the manufacturers guidelines, covering both parts and labor as stipulated in your policy. We understand your concerns about the cost discrepancies. The quotes you received from the service providers were significantly higher than the typical rates based on the manufacturers published guidelines, which is what our claim reimbursement amounts are based on.Regarding the $10,000 policy limit, we must clarify that this amount represents a cap rather than an automatic entitlement for every claim. It is a common misunderstanding, but the limit is not an indicator that all claims up to that amount will be approved outright. We believe that transparency and clarity regarding policy limits are crucial, and we caution against providers that might suggest guaranteed payouts up to the maximum limit without considering the specifics of each claim. We also note your previous satisfaction with how similar claims were handled under your policy. We strive to maintain consistency and fairness in all our claim assessments and regret that this incident did not meet your expectations. We value your patronage and are genuinely sorry to see you go. It has been a pleasure serving you as a customer, and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.Sincerely,Home Protection of America

HPOA is pretty good, I had it for 2 years now and they always assisted as expected. My only complaint is they are harder to reach via phone some times but usually I try after sometime to reach them. I had few claims(AC, Electrical, Water Heater) over the year and they seems to be reasonable to work with. In my experience **************** companies often eat up deductibles and with HPOA that is not the case and pretty transparent about their coverages. Very Happy and will continue extend my plan.

I am extremely pleased with the prompt response and payment from the Home Protection of America. To date I have filed and received reimbursements on 4 claims. The total amount paid to me with these claims far exceeds the premium amount that I have paid thus far. I highly recommend Home Protection of Americas coverage and service. They are outstanding in their protection and claims response. *************************

BUYER BEWARE!! PLEASE READ I wish there was a way to put ZERO STARS. Home Protection of America is the worst. I cancelled my plan because they are unprofessional and just want to collect people's money without fulfilling the purpose of being protected if something in your home goes wrong. Why do I have to take pictures and videos to show you a problem when you could just approve for a professional to come out and inspect the problem. They don't want to pay for anything. Why am I paying monthly for them to question "small" problems, that are covered. It takes days to get in touch with them. Even though they will tell you that are available on weekends for "emergencies", that is soo not the case. They won't call you at all. You then have to contact them on Monday and hopefully they answer, if it's after 5pm, you can forget it. I also cancelled my plan because none of the professionals in my area would deal this company. As soon as I told them my warranty company's name, they said "oh we don't deal with them". After calling around to several places, someone finally came out and to this day they haven't received payment from HPOA. I would get anxiety when it was time to call them because it was never an easy battle. Why am I stressing when I pay you for this service. I am done with them, but people should know what they are getting into.

I have had coverage for a little over a year. I made two claims over a month ago and paid the contractors upfront. HPOA promised to reimburse me. As of yet, I havent received any payments. As other reviewers have said, I cant get through to them on the phone and of course the voice mailbox is full. Fortunately, my repairs were not too expensive, but I am considering canceling coverage due to inability to contact them. Let the buyer beware! **********************************, MS
