The worst company ever. They told me I could save a lot by doing my own packing. I packed for months and did almost all of it myself. I also rented a UHaul to save money. The driver said he needed all the money and I could just work that out with the people in charge. I have contacted them for a month, and they won't ************* or give me back the money they owe me. *********************

The worst nightmare with this moving company, don't use them!The mover quote about $8,000 for the cost of the moving and I already thought it was too expensive, to begin with. The day they came to pack my stuff, they came up with a truck that is nothing like a usual 23 *************** changed the total to $23,000. I was in shock & was stuck as the next morning was supposed to be the day I close for the house and the new owner will be moving in so I can't find another mover. After I spent 2 hours arguing with the company owner, ***, we agreed with the $20,000. They will be packing my stuff in two trucks. One to my new house, & one to the storage in case they are not all fit into my new house. I contacted the storage & paid for the space to be ready when they bring my household stuff. Turn out, they can only fit 1/3 of my house to that one truck, and another is on the way. Then they said the second truck broke down, so they had to send another truck tomorrow which was the day I was closing on my house & supposed to vacate it the same day. I figured if they can only fit 1/3 of my stuff into one truck, 2 trucks won't work, so I call the ** Dogs, which operates by veterans, gave them 1/3 what I have, and paid them $2,400 for removing, The mover delivered one truck of my stuff on Saturday, 4 days after the delivery date. They've got about $18,000 from me already, and I can't get to the bank for cash, so I wrote my check for the balance, then they said they can only deliver one truck and will deliver the second one after my check clear the bank. They then, there were 4 of them, looked more like cartels than movers. Only one spoke English and did all the talking. He told me they don't make money, so they asked me to tip each one of them $100.00, I don't have a choice at it was 6 pm and they haven't moved anything into my house yet until they get that $100.00 each.

I had a very bad experience with Light House Van Lines and their representative *******************. They are very sweet and courteous till they load their truck, after that good luck getting hold of them. They inflated their estimate by $2,400. I had to leave a lot of furniture behind in order to make my move affordable. They cracked my 65" TV and broke bottles and glasses while moving my stuff. Their settlement guy had the audacity to offer $200 for my damages. Not only do they not take care of your goods, they insult you with low ball settlement offers. I have sued these guys for damages in the small claims court of Bergen Country for negligent handling of my household goods and exploiting time sensitive moving needs. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.

Used this company for a move from ************ to ******* *****. Absolutely terrible. The owner wants to disrespect by offering me $250 for my damaged items that cost me 15 times the amount. Not to mention missing 9 boxes with valuables. This was absolutely the worst experience i have had with a business. The over charged me, the movers who picked up the my stuff from ************, they charged me $1900 extra for additional space. Which was nowhere on the receipt. So i practically got taken advantage off because i had no other choice. I paid close to $6500 from my original quoted price of $3700. And now i did the insurance claim for my damaged and missing item and the ***** had the nerve to offer me $250. I will not let him take advantage of me like this.
