This company was hired as a sub-contractor to us from ************* to ********, **. We made arrangements with ************** and gave them $4,271.23 as per contract. Then was told to have a bank check for $709.46 and cash of $1,550.00 when the movers arrived. There was a communication problem because they could not speak english (aribc only). We gave it to the ******* and he never gave me a receipt for it. They loaded my belongings, and off they went. When they arrived in *******, they could not cash the check for it had been made out to the wrong party, and wanted cash in the amount of $4,399.00 before they would even unload the trailer. What choice did we have. Now I have been trying to call them, leave messages and emails, and nobody returns my calls or emails. I have been over charged $1,550.00 in cash and the bank check of $709.46 that they can't even cash. I did check with my bank in ****, and the check has not been cashed and they can't even cancel the check for 90 days. I don't know where to turn to. Can you please help us?

We hired this moving company through a third-party to move from Wisconsin to Texas. There was a lot of poor communication from the moving company and items were damaged in transit. After going through CSI, a third-party company for damages, we came to a resolution in which the company was supposed to pay for damages. We signed it back in February and the company has still not sent a check for the damages. The third-party companyhas said that I can only deal directly with them and so far this company has refused to return my phone calls.

Our major concerns is that A&S refuses to address the damage and lost items and that ***** signed a contract with Mission Van without reading or understanding the requirements. The contract that ***** signed included a drop off on the way to finale destination. Unless we paid them and additional $2300.00 they refused to make this drop off. As to damaged goods we have submitted pictures of the pedestal that was completely broken off our desk.. The second damaged item was our solid oak long headboard. The headband has an embedded mirror that was cracked.. I have had a local cabinet maker look at both the desk and headboard. He said a repair to the desk would cost between $300 -$500. I paid $395 to repair the desk so we could use it and move the desk into the house. He said the headboard cant be repair without serious damage to the unit. The headboard (made of solid oak) would be ruined if he tired to get to the broken mirror. The headboard cost $600 in 2006 from a private builder in ***************, **. He quit the business due to Covid. Our large mirror that sat on a dresser was never delivered, since the movers did not inventory all items in the move it is difficult to identify the exact items. The mirror part of a complete bedroom manufactured. Value is approximately $1200 for the beautiful three-fold mirror. A&S from start to finish is a company that should not be in the moving business. From hiring non-English speaking (probably illegal) untrained to move household items. They would not listen nor read the mobile phone translation of our requests. The additional charge of a drop-off on the way to the final destination should not had us made an additional $3000 charge. They did not read the contract the Mission sent them. Maybe since they cant speak English, they can not read it either. We feel that the damages, lost items, terrible handling and packing the truck, and extra charges to make the intermediate drop off we should be reimbursed

I am rejecting this response because:
I am rejecting this response because:   This company (goes by various names) has blamed the damage on us - our packing.  The items we packed came through great.  The furniture that was 'handled' by their movers is where the damage and lost item is totally their poor work. They have refused to apologized for the workers - they did not speak English and refused to listen to any instructions we tried to give them.   They were great at smoking and talking on their phones.  I swept the street of the cig butts they left.

In March 2024, I contacted Safe Ship Moving to move a single person's large objects (couch, bed, desk, dresser, etc.) <5 miles from an apartment to a house. They brokered the deal and contracted this fly-by-night company (A&S Packers and Movers dba Cozy Mozy) out of ********** to move everything. From the start, the manager in the office **** called me a day before they were scheduled to arrive and told me the movers were 20 minutes away. When I asked to confirm that was the case, he was unprofessional and confrontational. After I conceded, he called back 2 minutes later and rescinded saying they would be there the following day. The following day, 2 individuals in street clothes and a U-Haul rented truck without any English-speaking skills showed up at my apartment without any warning. After arguing with one of the movers vaguely between languages about what they would actually move and how they would do it (arguing about the number of steps from my apartment door to the truck), I ended up on the phone with **** again. He argued about needing an exact requisite to move- wouldn't move an ottoman that is a set of the couch because I didn't specify there was an ottoman. Eventually after being forced into needing their help, I was coerced into signing their contract to start moving and I had to Zelle $1,000 to A&S because they don't accept credit cards- gigantic red flat. Meanwhile, movers are complaining, working to extort $ from my family because they had to use the larger building elevator which is further away, etc. Fast forward to getting things in the house, they fail to get my couch in the house and leave it on the porch (as I instructed them to, so it was not damaged) and I had friends come help get it in later. This company offered $100 as an apology for the mistreatment from everyone and I have yet to hear back. This is a scam, they are not a trustworthy business, operating to avoid paying taxes, never do business with these crooks.
