      Contacted A General Plumbing regarding an issue with a hot water heater that is a 1 1/2 years old. A General came out and drained /flushed the hot water heater, but this did not resolve the issue. Was told they would contact the hot water heater manufacturer to inquire on what the issue could be and next steps. I was charged for a service call that day. Another week passed, and I did not hear back from them, so I called and asked for an update. I was told they now needed to replace the gas valve, and they came back out to replace this part, and was again charged and the issue not fixed. Was told the same as above, they would follow back up. Again, nothing from them. I called again and this time was told that the issue was the anode rods, those were replaced, and again I was charged but this did not fix the issue. The plumber said, Im done here and you need to call the manufacturer. The manufacturer would not speak to me, only the plumber to start the process of replacement. The company refuses to talk to me and all that needs to be done is they need to contact the manufacturer to start the replacement for a new tank for me, and they refuse to do so. I contacted ******** and White again today, and they have not called to start this process. I have been charged over $700 and still have a broken hot water heater that I cannot get replaced from the manufacturer until they call. I have asked/called several times asking to speak to the owner and have been told no, or not available and they will call me back. The staff is rude and cut me off and keep saying we are looking into it. They never do. I have now had to contact another plumbing company to move forward with this repair which will cost additional money. I now believe that I have been charged for unnecessary service calls for repairs that were not needed, and this issue could have been resolved sooner had they just contacted the manufacturer for a replacement hot water heater.

      We do not recommend using A-General for any plumbing needs. They are unreliable and overpriced. We had flooding on a Sunday that resulted in 3-4 feet of water in our crawl space, which damaged our hot water heater. When we discovered the flooding, we had A-General come out to help remove the water, which they eventually did that afternoon and we requested that they come out the next day to assess the damage to the hot water heater and to get ** a replacement estimate that we could provide to our insurance adjuster.The issues with them began the next day when no one ended showing up despite ** calling to confirm someone was coming. On Wednesday someone came out to take a look and he said he would get ** our estimate later that day. We never got it and meanwhile our insurance adjuster is waiting to process our claim.Finally, on Thursday we get an estimate, but it wasn't legible and required a fix, so we called multiple times throughout the day to request a typed, corrected estimate. Finally, Friday morning ******* sent a typed up estimate, but it still wasn't correct so I emailed back 18 minutes later and called right after to request a correct estimate, which we needed to submit to our insurance adjuster by the end of the day. We called more than 3 times and were continuously given the "don't worry we'll get it to you shortly." We never got the correct estimate so we called at 6:30pm and the lady who answered told ** ******* was on vacation and asked to once again take down our info to fix our situation (but never ended up calling ** back.) 24 days since the flooding incident and we have still not heard from A-General.After waiting those 6 days (and still no hot water), we called another plumber on Friday, which responded Saturday morning. They had a person out that afternoon and gave ** a correct estimate 10 minutes after the visit, which was $4K cheaper than A-General's. Don't waste your time with A-General for your plumbing needs, especially emergencies.
