Date of Service: Jan, 2021 Account: HF314611674 I came to the doctor for feet issue at ********** location. I was offered ORTHOTIC SPLINT to wear. I asked the nurse specifically if this is covered from my insurance. I was told 'Yes', and I am only responsible for deductible for the visit which was paid instantly. I was told to sign the paper that if insurance doesn't cover - I will need to pay, but I was reiterated that this is covered from my insurance. I started getting the bills from the provider when insurance denied. When I dig into this more, I was told from insurance they this provider is not contracted with my insurance to give me that wear. i spoke to billing customer service numerous time, as well as customer service from insurance. Billing customer service keeps me pointing to the paper I signed. Insurance says they (provider) should have told me if they are contracted vs not to give me the splint. So I am stuck in the middle.This **** reached debt collector, so I am going to pay.But my question to provider is:As a customer, should we rely on provider to share what can and cannot be offered from our insurance? If provider says -> Yes it is covered, are we suppose to interrogate further, and get a contract?Are we in health office or law office?Please reimburse me $273.97 that I am writing to debt collector ASAP. Since it is unfair for me to be paying this **** without knowing the contractual details.
