A representative came to my house to sell this product to me. I decided to give them a chance and let them start treatments.They told me treatments would be every 3 months. They came the first time on May 2 and only sprayed the outside of my house. The next day, I had over 100 flies in my living room. I had no idea where they were coming from. They emailed me on June 28 to tell me they were coming out to do a 45 day after egg cycle. I had no idea what they were talking about. When I signed the contract, they told me that they would be out every 90 days. If this was a 45 day cycle. then why did it take them 60 days to come from the initial visit. I asked them not to come and they came out anyway. The salesman that came out did not explain this to me the way they are now telling me. I was told every 90 days and they charge me $200 every time they come out. I feel as though they took advantage of me by not explaining the way it works completely. I asked them to cancel the treatments and that is when they told me that it would be $200 to cancel. The salesman never told me that there would be a charge to cancel. I told them I would not pay the $200 and they threatened to send me to collections. If I had been told the truth about what they do from the beginning, I would never have signed the contract. When you call and ask to speak to a supervisor, they wont let you speak to one. They keep telling you that they are gonna charge you the cancellation fee. I feel as though they scammed me because I am a senior citizen.Business Response

As many of the other complaints have alluded to, this business has very misleading sales practices. The young man that came knocking at the door was pushy and vague and did not go over details. He made it sound like he was doing me a huge favor by giving me discounted rates, and did not make the cancellation policy clear. He was very casual and did not explain what I was signing. I was under the impression it was his own business so I thought I would give it a chance. The main reason for hiring EcoShield was for mosquitos, and it wasn't until after I signed the contract that I was told mosquitos were a separate service and they did not recommend it because "mosquito's are tough" and their solution does not work. We decided to keep trying the bi-monthly service to see how it went. At one point, we had someone come in to do an inspection as we were having a rodent issue - the guy was extremely rude and unhelpful and we received a quote for over $2,000 for who knows what. It wasn't clear what exactly they would be doing to fix the issue. After that poor experience, and doing more digging into the company and seeing the many complaints from our neighbors about unethical business practices, we decided to cancel. I spoke to someone on the phone who let me know I would be charged a fee, and when I told them I was unaware of this fee, they said okay and made it sound like it would be waived and moved forward with the cancellation. I have since received an absurd amount of borderline harassing emails, text messages, and phone calls and am now receiving letters from a collections agency - which seems a bit aggressive for $150 after 2 months. Looking back, I can see that the sales person was intentionally misleading, and so was the person I cancelled with on the phone. EcoShield is not in accordance with a business that is acting ethically and honestly all so they can squeeze a few bucks out of an unsuspecting consumer.Business Response

I wanted to cancel the my 3 months appointment. They said when I signed up all I had to do was call. I tried to call and they basically wont stop it. Now they are sending it to collections because I dont want to pay for a service I didnt get .Business Response

A man came knocking on my door and I couldn't get rid of him. Finally I agreed to try their service and spray the outside of the house to eliminate bugs (mosquito's). The guy must've called and text me 20 times even though I emphasized I was working from home and had conference calls. I gave him a one hour window when they could come and spray. NO SHOW! Four hours later I see a strange man on my lawn spraying something. I emphasized that it was not a convenient time. He was 4 hours late, and I told him get off my property and don't come back. Nothing about this was professional and being new to the area I'm a little skeptical about strangers showing up at their leisure. The next thing I know I'm getting non stop phone calls and texts from multiple numbers seeking payment for a job that was never performed. They told me he did his job and I told them I still had mosquito's. Then they told me I still had the mosquito's because they didn't finish his job. OK so why am I being harassed for a partial job?? I had to block all the different numbers on my phone because they wouldn't leave me alone. Now I'm getting collection letters. They're trying to charge me $150 for a job not complete and since doubled that price for the collections. These people need to be shut down or taught how to run a business. Their salesman ********** in Sussex County, ** came to my home and pitched an intro service for $300 to get rid of wasp nests. Told him I was not interested in signing up for long term contract but would do the one time service he was pitching and if I wanted to pursue something further would call him. He showed up the next day to do the service - charged us more than the $300 he pitched - said a receipt would come via email which it NEVER did. Then he disappeared that day and left the technician he brought with him to finish the job (mediocre and less than what he pitched). He never returned my calls or texts when I asked about missing receipt. A month later we found out when a technician returned to our house that he forged my husbands initials and created a contract for us that we NEVER signed up for or agreed to. He has yet to return my calls or messages. Technicians continue to show up and I have to tell them to get off our property because we did not sign up for service. I never received a receipt for the one time service or have any info from them whatsoever. *** asked technicians to have a manager call me *** called and left messages. Company doesnt return our calls. This is not about cancelling a contract - this is about a sales rep misrepresenting the company and its services and FORGING a contract we NEVER agreed to. Id like this resolved before having to take legal action because one of their employees forged a contract. This is beyond criminal.Business Response

Empty promises and expectations not met. ******** was a nice guy and promised the world. But unfortunately never delivered. When we agreed on the service schedule, they never showed up. It took a week and half for them to come. I had to follow up twice for them to come. And when they came, they missed a number of spots and nests that were in sight. The level of care of service is very low. The salesman gave me every excuse in the book and promised to make it right, so I gave him a second chance. That second chance was a flop. They didnt come on the right date or time. Worse, I watched the guys spray, they cut corners everywhere. They seemed like they just wanted to leave. When I finally had enough, I asked to cancel the contract. A week later, the contract never cancelled. I reached out to the salesman, he gave me every excuse and said he did it and will do it again. As expected, he didnt. I wouldnt recommend or ever use this company again.Business Response
