I had a doctor's appointment at a Dyalisis Center located at *** ******* ****** the week of January 6, 2025. Since I was unfamiliar with the address, I stopped by the office on Sunday, January 5th to confirm the location of the business. I parked in the parking lot for the retail businesses at *** ******* ****** and walked around the retail area to confirm which door belonged to the Dyalisis Center. As an 81 year old senior citizen with mobility issues, it took me a few minutes to locate the door of the business. As I returned to my silver 2004 Nissan Maxima, I was dismayed to learn that my vehicle had been towed by A-1 Towing. I had a legitimate business purpose for being in the lot since I was a client of the Dyalisis Center and was was there for that purpose. In order to retrieve my car from the towing storage lot, I was charged $370 in cash by A-1 Towing and the business refused to provide a receipt for payment. I will be filing a formal complaint with the the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs and also with the NJ State Attorney General's Office. I will also be contacting the local news outlets to investigate this business for their unethical business practices.

You made a compliant to my company and we are closed on Sunday.  These accusations on my company are false. We never towed your vehicle our signs are up on the property and it shows We are closed on Sunday also.  Now do you have any kind of information on who towed your vehicle. Do you know what kind of truck   The person who towed your car   You stated you didnt get a receipt why you didnt called the police.  I need some kind of information that you are accusing my company of a tow that we never did.  Do you have pictures or something. I went as far to check my gps on all my trucks and not one of them was move that day.  There are unhonest people in this world that can scram the elderly.  If you have something that states my company did this Im more then happy to help you  but as of right now I have nothing to go on that states my company did such thing.  Im sorry you going through this but we was not the one who tow your vehicle especially on a Sunday on that facility.  The same way you contacted BBB and consumer affairs you could have contacted my company on the next business day to speak With the manager and explain to them What was going on we could have try to help you more right there and then instead of 2 months later.

I am rejecting this response because:

I stand by my original complaint.  The business owners attempt to shift responsibility is simply a feeble attempt to hide the truth. My vehicle was towed to their lot by their two truck and driver, and only after I paid in cash to their tow truck driver, was my vehicle released from their lot.  Their two truck driver refused to issue receipt after payment was made in cash. This is their modus operandi.  Do not trust or do business with them.  Unethical business practices.

    Regards,

We were stranded for 5 hours in 90 degree heat because of A-1 Towing. ************************* (my husband) contacted his auto insurance provider, Allstate, for a tow when his car's transmission failed. Allstate told him that A-1 Towing would be arriving at 1PM approximately, so at 1:20 we became concerned (mostly due to the heat). Upon calling, the tow truck driver was belligerent, rude, and refused to give me his name to file a complaint with BBB. He also lied about the company for which he worked: he claimed he worked for "** Fast Towing" but upon looking at the Allstate App and searching the phone number of the driver, it turns out A-1 is definitely the company to blame. He claimed he "did not want" to attend the job to which he was dispatched and according to Allstate's meticulous records and their attorneys, A-1 NEVER notified our insurance company of the cancellation. We thus had to obtain a police emergency tow.I work for an attorney, and I will be filing a lawsuit against this company for their behavior unless I receive suitable compensation. Allstate and their attorneys will be assisting us in this endeavor.

This towing company has terrible customer service and a terrible reputation. There are in our complex for private towing however, whenever I call they never answer the phone. It becomes extremely frustrating especially when someone is parked in your spot illegally and they are the ones who are supposed to be around to resolve the issue however are no where to be found. However, they will happily tow my car on a Sunday which is a day they are supposed to be closed. If they are going to be the private towing for the building then they should have someone available 24/7 so they can fulfill their duties. If not, they will need *************** someone who is on call to take care of issues that happen such as these My car was also towed from in front of my building while I was simply carrying groceries upstairs. The price they originally shared is not what they charged and when I called them over the phone to discuss the price considering they are cash only, they said I would have to come first to the tow yard and then they will give me a price. Isnt this something that should be a standard price/flat fee? Why are they debating/negotiating prices upon arrival?
