They don't deserve even one star.CROSS COUNTRY LONG DISTANCE MOVERS IS THE WORST COMPANY I'VE EVER WORKED WITH.LYING, CHEATING, UNRELIABLE. I WON'T BE TALKING TO THEM EVER AGAIN.I hired them to pick up my stuff on Aug. 19, they made *********** had to convince them to come on the 20th. They came late & with plenty of excuses. We made an agreement before giving them the money, that I can call the company to track the truck until they drop the boxes, they gave more excuses how they can't track the truck. I convinced them "You have my truck, I have a Right to know where my stuff is." After a 20 minute wait on the ohone, they finally gave in & told me. My stuff was supposed to be delivered on Aug. 24, they dropped my stuff on Sept. 7th. After a torturous TWELVE DAYS of lack of sleep, wanting to throw up, being depressed about where my stuff was, they dropped my stuff & told me, "Pay us first or we won't deliver it."Having worked & cooperatied with many ************************* in my life, this was the worst company ever. DO NOT HIRE THESE CLOWNS AT ALL!

My experience with New Destiny/Cross Country Movers NJ (confused on who's who) has been the "COMBINATION OF ALL THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS WRITTEN". Contact with this/these Movers began on 7/18/24 after scheduling my move from ** to ** with Captain vl on 7/15/24. First of all, I was not aware that there would be a Company (not Capt *** moving my belongings. I received an written estimate from Captain ** based on the detailed dimensions I gave them, then when the Movers came they said the dimensions of two boxes where much larger and didn't match what was on the Estimate and I will have to pay them $300 more or my things will not be moved. At this time it was close to midnight, I was stressed over the situation so I paid $150 and my things where loaded. There has been several emails and phone calls to the Movers to deliver my things (some with no responses). The Movers made an attempt to deliver my things on 7/31/24. They said my things where on the truck but refused to let me see them until I paid the balance. I refused to pay without seeing my things first, they drove off with my stuff and I have no idea where my things are today. It's been over a Month and I don't have my things yet. I want help. What can I do?

I moved by myself for the first time ever (and across the country at that) and a broker recommended this company to me. Honestly, I thought a different company would be moving my belongings, but had I seen who this carrier was and read the reviews beforehand, I would've NEVER agreed to have them service me. I have never been so traumatized by an experience and I am not exaggerating!Firstly, they were a day late in picking up my things on schedule. They did call and accommodated to come the next day which is a day they don't normally work on; however, the man in charge for picking up my belongings charged me for more storage in the truck even when the broker ensured me that the inventory I planned to have move would fit just fine with room to spare (it was an average room-sized full of stuff -- I didn't have much belongings, there weren't even any large furniture to consider). Of course, I agreed to pay for more storage because I needed my stuff to start moving as I was scheduled to leave the state the next day and so they took advantage of that urgency.21 days have passed and I have yet to get a phone call nor has my stuff arrived, so I took it upon myself to call the number provided. The amount of stress I had to endure just to even get someone to pick up the phone and answer is beyond what I'm capable of handling. Staff was incompetent because they couldn't get me an ETA and promised to call back, but never did. It took me cussing them out and threatening to take legal action to finally get one and the movers came a week and a half later. The first thing the movers did was drop and break half of my ceramics beyond repair. After a couple of days of unpacking, I've come to find out they also lost or misplaced a $500 gaming console plus an additional $500 worth of gaming accessories. I truly believe they stole it, because a piece of tape that I have used to seal the box was broken, but the towel I wrapped it up in was still in the box. NEVER AGAIN!

I wish I saw these comments before I trusted them with moving my stuff across the country. Like others I booked through Eagle Moving Group who then contracted out to Cross Country Long Distance Movers. There's no need to repeat everything that happened because it's literally what has happened to everyone else who has left comments. Throughout the process Eagle Moving Group was useless as well. My move was six months ago and they still haven't reimbursed me for the damages they caused. Their customer service also appear incompetent and put you on hold for long periods of time without warning.

I wish I could leave negative stars. Do not trust these people. It took them about a week for them to arrive at our place in ** from **. They had to be here early afternoon to move my belongings in their truck. But they were more than 3 hours late. Not only did they charge my mother more but they also broke my tv. I know it was them because we made sure my tv was very secure with a large thick blanket. Also, they are very poor in communication. They didn't bother to contact my mother at all. And when they did, it was only through text and when they'd actually arrive with all of my belongings. Do NOT trust them!

They deserve 0 stars but this site requires we chose a star as part of the review. I had no choice on who AmeriSafe Movers (also known as "Nationwide Moving Services, **** on BBB) chose as a carrier. Don't waste your time with AmeriSafe Moving Services company either especially since they work with this company, Cross-Country Long Distance Movers, as a carrier. They are both bad company!!When I originally talked to AmeriSafe for an estimate, it is common sense knowledge that a person would have lots of items when moving especially since I provide the size (square footage) of my condo so the estimate was about $3,000 but the final total was about $11,000. And also knowing that I live on the 2nd floor of a condo, they should have verbally told me there would be additional costs for stairs. There were two men who came for the pickup and were so late getting to my place. After they were done packing they insisted to get $250 each on tip after. That was such a waste of tip $ because they and the carrier, Cross-Country Long Distance Movers, did not take care of my items. They broke one of my favorite bar stool chairs, a big furniture holder for my speakers, and most boxes were not properly packaged to avoid breaking. They picked up my stuff on Oct 10, but they delivered on Nov 23 (the day of thanksgiving). During that time, the company would not provide any communication status. I had to call every day for status, and every time I called Cross-Country Long Distance movers, I would end up waiting more than an hour to get someone on the phone for status. Getting communication from the drivers was like pulling teeth. I had to call Cross-Country Long Distance Movers and wait a long time to get someone to give me status on the driver whereabouts and contact information. I have submitted a complaint re AmeriSafe via BBB but their response was so weak and inexcusable. They want to be right about what they did but it's injustice for the amount of money I paid.

Please save yourself the stress and aggravation of dealing with this company!! They are HORRIBLE!!! We are in our late 60's. My husband is a disabled veteran. I scheduled our move with Eagle Movers who contracted Cross Country Long Distance Movers to move us from GA to OH. The day of the move 4 men showed up. The lead told me it would cost $2000 more than the estimate given to us by Eagle Movers. They know you are in a vulnerable position. We sold our home and needed to have everything out of the house THAT DAY! We had no coice but to pay the extra money! But then they told us they couldn't take all of our stuff anyway. We were told by Eagle Movers as well as Cross Country Movers that we would get our stuff in the next 5 days. When I called to arrange a delivery date I was told they had **** business days to deliver our stuff. My husband uses a lift chair but had to struggle without it or a bed or any of our furniture for over 3 weeks!! When I tried to find out why we weren't getting our stuff they said DOT regulations allow them 30 days to deliver your stuff before they have to offer you compensation. When we finally got our stuff so many things were damaged and broken! We have never received the glass top to our coffee table or the glass top to our end table. I've called repeatedly to try to find out where the items are or if they too were broken. They put me on hold as soon as they answer the phone and never pick it up again. It is impossible to get any answers or instructions on filing a claim for missing /damaged items. This was a complete nightmare!! I don't know how they can still be in business the way they treat their customers. Please warn anyone who is considering using this company to stay away! And Eagle Movers is aware of this company's pathetic service and yet they continue to use them!!! I would never recommend Eagle Movers to anyone either. Once they get your deposit they could care less what happens to you or your stuff!!!

Cross Country Movers told us that our items would be delivered from ********, **** to ********, ***** significantly earlier than they were. We were told at the date of pickup (August 15, 2023) it would take 3 to 5 days (regardless of what their contract said) by their *******. They left our TV, an industrial sized thing of bubble-wrap, and up charged us nearly an additional $1,000 from our original estimate. They then held our items for 29 days, delivering them today, September 13, 2023. I did not receive any notice from them they were coming to drop my things off until approximately 7:30 pm last night, September 12, 2023. I received less than 12 hours' notice after being assured by customer service representatives multiple times that I would receive at least 24 - 48 hours' notice from the movers. This was not the case, I had to cancel things last minute, costing me money as I work as a college professor and a freelance musician. I was supposed to go out and do recruiting this morning, but had to cancel on those plans, last minute, which makes me look extremely unprofessional. Oh, and for the past 2 weeks, I have been told not to worry and my things would "be there early next week." When we called Monday for an update (my girlfriend had to call on her phone as my phone had died), they told us they were "unsure about where our items were," and that they might "be on the truck, or maybe they're still in storage." Lastly, they delivered us wrong boxes, which makes me wonder which of my items are somewhere else right now because of the sheer incompetency of this company. There is no reason they should be able to transport any goods, they lose people's items, deliver the wrong ones, and all the while, tell you to shut up and wait your turn. This is my livelihood. I wouldn't have left many of these items with these movers, I need them to teach, gig, and do my job.Avoid this company like your life depends on it.

This company deserves zero stars. Absolutely horrible. I was originally told a pickup time of 12 pm, the mover called and said they gave me the wrong time and ended up showing up at 8 pm. I added more items to the truck once they got here, and they upcharged me, charging me over $1,000 for the items I was adding. The mover also told me that since I was not traveling that far (a little over 300 miles), that I should expect my stuff to be delivered within 2-3 days. At that time, I also found out that it could take **** days for my stuff to be delivered. I called the next day to get an update on my delivery date, and they didn't have one. I called every day and the answer was the same: "we are working on it, we don't have a date yet." Finally after 7 days, I received my stuff. My stuff arrived on a different truck, which I did not appreciate because that meant my stuff was handled at another location without me knowing. The movers delivered my stuff into my new apartment and began unwrapping my furniture. I had numerous pieces of furniture broken, including my couch, a drawer to my day bed, coffee mugs, a floor lamp, and much more. As I was unpacking, I also realized some stuff was missing. A lot of my moving boxes were absolutely disgusting, many looked like they had been thrown around a room a million times. I tallied up the amount of damages that had been done (about $1,000 - $2,000). I filed a moving claim and just received the amount that they want to give me: $78. I plan to file a dispute request and get my attorney involved. THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE - DO NOT USE!!!
