I am writing to formally file a complaint against Express Lock & Key, a locksmith company I contacted for a vehicle key replacement service. My experience with this business was extremely troubling, involving misleading pricing, unprofessional and aggressive conduct by the technician, and a lack of accountability from the company’s management. On October 13th, I requested a replacement key service for my 2008 Ford Focus from Express Lock & Key.
I was told over the phone that I would receive a price quote when the technician arrived.
The technician arrived over an 2 hour late with no courtesy notice or apology.
No price was discussed prior to the start of the work. After the key was cut and programmed, I was suddenly presented with a charge of $347, which I found to be extremely high for the service provided. He then offered $287 which I still thought was high. I asked him to allow me a minute to step inside to discuss with my daughter who is the car owner. I offered to allow him to hold the key in the meantime and he declined. I step inside for less than 3-5 minutes to discuss payment with my daughter because she was at work. When he started ringing the bell. Upon answering the technician became visibly upset, raised his voice, and began threatening to call the police. He did this in front of my children, creating an unnecessarily hostile and stressful scene outside my home.
The technician then pressured my 16-year-old son into making the payment, even though I was still present and actively trying to resolve the issue with his company.
During the incident, I called the company and spoke with a representative named Hassan, who agreed to reduce the charge to $200. He said he would call back but did not. I later called, spoke to Hassan again and he promised a refund of $87.
Despite multiple follow-up attempts, no refund has been issued, and Hassan has not returned my calls.
I have Ring doorbell camera footage capturing the technician's behavior and confirming the

I contacted this company on 8/21/25 to replace a sliding patio door lock and they sent a locksmith who replaced it with a deadbolt which I discovered later that a deadbolt can't lock a sliding path door I tried numerous times to contact them and they just kept telling me that they would send someone out but never did then they just stopped answering my calls. I just want the lock replaced for the correct lock for security purposes or my $350 refunded.
