Windshield of a 2017 Subaru Outback replaced 02/15/2024 for the cost of $333.43. On 03/04/2024 when I entered the vehicle, I noticed a crack , app. 2 inches long, starting from the bottom edge of the glass, driver side, near the state inspection sticker, close to the hood. On 03/05/2024 went to the bussiness expecting a warranty replacement ( the crack was now app. 3 inches longer ). The warranty is "Lifetime" aganist defects in material and workmanship. Their are exclusions due to vandalism, theft, accident, negligent conduct, acts of god and/or rock chips. On arrival, I was immediately informed by the counter person that warranty is only for wormanship - leaks. I advised that it appears to be a material or installation issue as the crack started at the edge (very bottom) of the windshield. I was told if it was a material defect it would have occurred in the first two days, not three weeks after. I advised that there is no sign of a chip or rock damage and almost impossible for any stone to hit that location without damaging the hood or glass seal ... at that point I advised that they hadn't even looked at the issue and already claiming a non warranty issue. I requested to see the manager, after five minutes the manager appeared and did look at the damage ( a 30 second inspection in the rain) and stated it was hit by a rock or stone and that there may not be any sign of an impact. I advised that the vehicle was not being driven when the crack first appeared. I guess it's always possible that maybe it was not a warranty issue as I have no way to prove material defect or installation issue. The immediate denial of warranty without even looking at the issue really bothers me as does the non commitment to customer satisfaction. I guess its a lifetime warranty for the first 2 days, possibly if it leaked, it may have been warranted, but I doubt it.
