Hello my name is ***************************** I live in Williamstown **, I purchased solar in 1/8/20 I am a travel nurse. I have been away from the house for two years. I had a house fire, which became $100,000 claim. My ******* box was one of the electronics that needed to be replaced. In January I received mail from Home and realized that my solar was not connected to the grid for six months. I contacted the rep who installed my panels and we went back-and-forth, trying to troubleshoot the issue at hand for nearly an hour. When I was told that we did all that we could do at the moment, and that a solar panel technician would come out, I was given the technicians number, to which I had to tell the technician to talk to my tenant who was home as I am in ********** working. Not one person I spoke with, and I have all the text messages because we didnt talk on the phone mentioned to me that this would be charged or anything about a price. Just at that they would take care of it. Couple weeks later I receive a bill for $350. Totally unannounced, not suspecting any bills to come in. The technician was in the house for just under n hour and I have screenshots from my ring camera to prove that as well.I emailed ************************************* an employee from your company, and we were sending emails back-and-forth. I was trying to explain my situation to said employee, then I got a follow up email that threatened me to put a lien on my property if I dont pay.As you can imagine, I took immense offense to this threat, whether or not that employee thinks, they threatened me or not. As well, I am a new business owner since last year. So what I also know is that threatening your customers especially the ones who have paid is a terrible business model. This employee also indicated that I was stupid for thinking that this was not a charged service, as well as try telling me that the standard wage for an electrician was $350 in the *******************. Why did I think that this was not a charged to service? Because my system is less than three years old and the warranty is good for another 20 years I believe. Moreover, no one told me that there would be a $350 charge for fixing this problem. But as a business that deals directly with the customer, that business needs to fully disclose a price or an estimate or an invoice, or even an heads up that this will be a charge. If I was aware of this $350 charge, I would not be filing a complaint with the business bureau. But the fact of the matter is that this charge was 100% omitted from me. I only spoke to two people however, not one of those people alerted me that there would be a cost, then alone $350 charge for <1 hour of work.Their employee threatened to put a lien on my property. I was trying to handle this situation amicably. That is when she then hinted that I was stupid, and I could not believe what I was reading. But as an American, as well as a business owner, I do know my rights. Not disclosing a price to your customers is illegal and can be a predatory practice. The fair trade act of ****, and the ********** customer fraud act were put in place to prevent this from happening. I really wish to settle this now, but if not, I will have no option, but to file a complaint with the ********** division of consumer affairs, the better business bureau, ** board of public utilities, and the bureau of consumer protection with the FTC.As well as I will have to file an injunction and will proceed in small claims court. This is not a threat it is the response to your employees threat with legal action to protect myself and customers alike. No where in contract does it disclose there will be a service fee, especially one of $350, instead it only says there is a 25 year warranty.
