    I strongly suggest that you not do business with Friendly Beaver Campground. While their application states that they keep deposits, if you end up not taking a seasonal site there, the practice is unfair given they provide no update regarding one's eligibility to secure a site. My family paid $200 with an application for a seasonal site on May 2, 2021. . The week prior to Memorial Day, I booked the holiday weekend for family at this Beaver "not-so-friendly" Campground.". An unexpected need to work resulted in our inability to go camping that weekend. When I called to cancel the Memorial Day weekend, I asked about the status of our seasonal application. Robert was rude and indicated all their contracts were full. They kept the $210 I paid for Memorial Day AND booked it out to another camper. We heard nothing from them regarding the status of our seasonal application for close to two months. To ensure my family would not miss out on camping this summer season, we booked weekends at a number of other sites. We called BF Campground to let them know we would not be able to wait for a site, or even communication about our status and requested our $200 back. They are refusing to give us back our deposit, spinelessly falling back on the language in their application. So now they $410 of our money and we have never stepped foot on the property. The only blame I take in this situation is not reading the Google Reviews before I attempted to do business with this campground. I have never filled out a complaint on the BBB site.

    Thank ***** for taking the time to share your feedback. It has been a very challenging year not just for Friendly Beaver, but for all campgrounds in the New England area. As you have found out, seasonal sites are very hard to come by. Robert has been very communicative with you and has been working hard to find sites for all our customers in waiting. Unfortunately, not very many people are choosing to leave the campground. We are very disappointed that you felt the need to leave a negative review just because we were unable to find you a seasonal site in time for July 4th Weekend. Robert is always available to chat more if you wish to find a mutually agreeable solution. Irregardless we do wish you all the best with your future camping trips and hope you are able to find a seasonal campground soon that you can call home.

    He made no effort to reach out - not a call or email. He will be able to produce nothing. Not sure why he used July 4 as the deciding factor for us moving on as we didn't mention a thing about July 4. The response indicated that Robert is available to chat more to find a solution. Robert told both my son and myself on two separate calls that we are not getting our deposit back. Why we would call and ask a third time. They have $410 of our money. We have a new camper and didn't want to waste the summer wondering if we were going to hear from Friendly Beaver Campground. I needed to book a campground somewhere for a few weekends before everything was full. He has money that we could have used to take our children camping.

    We fundamentally disagree with this customers assessment of the situation, but realize that this will not be solved through responses to a negative review. At the end of the day we are willing to work with the customer in finding an appropriate resolution and advise the customer to please contact Robert as requested. We also understand that though we do our absolute best, we will not please everyone. We wish ***** all the best in the various places the has booked and we are saddened that Friendly Beaver Campground will not be one of those places.

    I have never used the Better Business Bureau and must say, I am impressed by and grateful for the attention given my concern with the Friendly Beaver Campgrounds' choice to not do the right thing. We requested our deposit money be returned twice and Robert chose not to. I hardly plan to ask him a third time. He can simply mail a check should he be willing to resolve what is so unfortunate. I appreciate that he is wishing me the best in camping but it is my son and his two young children who wanted to camp this summer. They have not booked many weekends for camping because the money to do so is sitting at Family Beaver Camground. I hope the couple of hundred bucks Robert is holding on to, helps to keep his post-COVID business afloat. Thanks, BBB.
