On August 4, 2021, I visited *** Maintenance & Fence, Inc. **********, NH and placed an order for a granite lamppost to be installed at my residence. On that day I paid a 50% deposit of $410.50 on the order. In the beginning of October, I began calling the company to inquire about the status of the order which includes installation of the lamppost. After leaving several messages, with no return calls received, I drove out to the business in mid-October to see if I could get an answer to my question. On that visit, I was greeted by a woman (I believe the owner of the company) who pulled my file and told me she would speak with the scheduler and give me a call the following day with a status update. I've never received a call back. I have subsequently called on numerous occasions, approximately once per week, and have received no calls back in response to the multiple messages that have been left. Of note, the phone system does not ring when I call and after a period of silence it goes directly to their automated messaging system. I have done business with this company on two previous occasions over the past 13 years and have always been pleased with their work (and have referred other customers to them) so I am quite surprised and disappointed with this experience. At a minimum, I would be pleased if they would at least give me the courtesy of a call to give me an honest appraisal of their situation. I totally understand that the world is currently short-staffed and am a very patient and realistic person. To have no response whatsoever is very upsetting. If they are unable to complete the transaction, for whatever reason, and they are willing to refund the total deposit that was paid on August 4, 2021 of $410.50 that would also be an acceptable resolution to this situation.
