I had contractors come look at finishing my basement in a new build in November 2022 and CJC Construction LLC (Chad, the owner) was one of those contractors. After going through all the bids and speaking with the contractors I hired Chad (CJC) to finish my basement. The quote was for $****** and Chad asked for **% down, so I paid $****** dollars up front. Work was planned to start 2 or 3 week of January 2023 and Chad said it would be a 6 week project. Chad finally showed up Jan 30. for the first time after I had to reach out to him about not starting. Then the contractor (Chad) would only show up once or twice a week and would only work for 1 or 2 hours when he did show up. This went on until the 1st of March when I reached out and told Chad this is not working and the job will not be done in 6 weeks with him only showing up a few hours a week to work. Chad agreed and said he would start showing up more and I told him I wanted the job completed by the end of April. Nothing changed, Chad would only show up once a week and would never stay longer than a few hours. Here we are in mid-April, the job is nowhere near done, work is having to be redone because it was done wrong in the first place and I have had to purchase material out of my own pocket because the job would not be progresses otherwise. I spoke with Chad multiple times about all of this and finally on April 18th I asked Chad for a partial refund because the job will not be done by the end of April and I no longer trust him or his quality of work. I have tired to do everything possible for this contractor just so I can get the job completed and Chad is not willing to finish the job or refund me any money out of the $****** I gave him. Chad has not spent $****** on the job, i know this because i have all texts, calls, and video of everytime he was on site and I know what material he bought for the job. I just want a partial refund and to be done with this contractor.
