On Saturday, August 9, 2025, I contacted Omaha Tree Service after a wind storm had broken off two large limbs from an old maple tree. They sent someone out within two hours to assess the job and he provided me with a written bid of $600 for the work. He said that if I agreed to that amount that they would do the work that day. I agreed but no one came to do the work that day. The next morning, a different Omaha Tree Service representative arrived, assessed the job, and said they would charge me $800 to do the work that day. He said it was higher because it was a Sunday. We agreed on an amount of $700 and they came and did their work that day and I paid them.
Even though I asked them twice while they were on my property, they refused to remove part of a limb that was originally bid on to be removed. They said that it was too high up and they didn’t have the proper equipment with them. This was an upper part of the limb that had broken off from the main limb and was stuck on another limb, causing it to rest on my house.
So the next day, as a 73 year old man, I set my 20 foot ladder up against a large limb on the tree, and climbed to the top of the ladder with my ten foot tree trimmer tool. After climbing to the top of the ladder and then onto the tree, I was able to push the broken limb off the live limb so it fell to the ground. I then cut it up with a lopper and hand saw and arranged for its disposal.
In addition to the above complaint, their equipment left numerous oil spills on my sidewalk and driveway which I had to clean up.
I sent an email to them on Monday, August 11, expressing my dissatisfaction and requesting a $100 refund. I also left a comment on their website, referencing the email, but I have not heard back from them.
