      Unbelievable! I had opened up a card with Nebraska furniture Mart at 5ish years ago. I purchased several things and paid them off and went to go purchase and mattress a couple pillows and a mattress topper about a month ago. Our sales girl said we have 50 months deferred interest in which I therefore asked for the bottom $ amt. after taxes & everything & divided by 50. Then that worked out to about $55 a month and repeated that to her and she said YES, that is correct; which, as it being her job as a sales girl would be the key time to say oh and remember, there’s a 4% add-on that you need to budget in; in which she absolutely did not. Then I get first bill and it’s $120. So I called them & asked how it dbld. from what I was told & the lady and Cust. Serv. said I just had a call about this yesterday. (Obviously a common issue) There’s a 4% add-on that they don’t tell the cust., so yes it’s going to be 4% higher than what you expected. I asked to speak to an Mgr. and he came and said I will fill out a form and send to acct’ing if we can get those pymts. down. So it got lowered down to $70 which is still higher than what I was expecting because I was expecting $55 and paying $10 more to avoid the def. interest at the end of the term. So I go ahead and pay $10 more which is $80 and avoid them because honestly, I didn’t have the energy to deal with it. Now, I get my bill for this month and it’s $89 so now it’s gone up again.I called them back because on a budget. I would’ve not a bought this if I knew this 4% was added on. I talked to a different mgr. & she said, our hands are tied. We lowered as much as we could. When you went and got the card it tells you in the fine print that the 4% added on (let me remind you was 5 years ago) and if you need to return it, we can arrange that. (problem is is that I sold my old mattress, so kind of stuck.). It is their employees job, especially when SPECIFICALLY asked for a bottom line to remind people of any add-ons for a budget .

      Hello Dashea,
      Thanks for reaching out about your recent purchase.  We apologize for the miscommunication with your salesperson at the time of purchase and understand the frustration it has caused. The promotion your orders qualified for was  deferred interest for 50 months with the purchase of a  mattress $2499 or more. Minimum monthly payments to your NFM card are required and calculated as 4% of your total balance plus any fees, rounded up to the nearest dollar, or $15 whichever is greater.  This is stated on the credit agreement  that was signed when you applied for the NFM credit card. It is also stated on signage in store, on our website found  in multiple places such as https://www.nfm.com/terms-and-conditions and is explained on the last page of each NFM credit card statement. We spoke with you March 26th and requested your payment for your mattress order be put on a level payment plan, so your minimum payment was decreased to $89. We spoke with you again on April 18th when you contacted us about your payment still being too high. We provided more information explaining your balance, promotions and offered to adjust your account again to lower your payment $63 for this billing cycle. Your salesperson's manager has been notified of the issues this has caused you so training can be provided to avoid this experience in the future.
