I contacted a generic website on November 30, 2023 for concrete work. I heard from numerous companies - one being FLG construction company. ****** * *** ***** came out and provided me an estimate for the work. On December 5th I agreed to the work and paid $1800 (50%). Scheduled work for possibly Dec 8th or 9th - dependent on the weather (too cold) or may be delayed till spring. The next day (December 6th) I informed ****** that I wanted to cancel the work at this time. I informed ****** that I am having a pool being installed next spring and my pool builder informed me that I cannot put any concrete in before the pool as they will need to have wires and other underground pipes installed and inspected (in the area of the concrete job) before concrete is poured. ****** understood and agreed over the phone and would refund my $1800. After further text messages with ****** - he back tracked and agreed to write me a check for $1500 after my check cleared. I was willing to accept that and pay $300 for his “estimate”. Excessive, but I was going to let that go. After two weeks of not receiving the check – I texted him (3 texts) and called him (numerous phone calls). He failed to respond to all requests. On 1/4/2024 I called his number from another phone and he called back for concrete work. I told him who I was and he told me “I have been avoiding your calls and texts”. He said he would send a check. I told him I will stop over and get a check from him at his location. He said he would text me his address and I could stop over. He never did. I told him I will be filing a complaint with the BBB. He did respond via text and told me he needed 3 weeks. He had just switched banks and needed new checks. I told him I would give him 3 weeks. On 1/25/2024 (3 weeks after last communication), Called - no answer. I texted him twice on 1/25/2024 - no response. I texted once more on 1/26/2024 - no response. I am now filing this complaint.
