      This is by far the worst system used and set up to keep folks from creating generational wealth. I pray this current education system is destroyed and rebuilt without capitalism involved.

      Tried to get info on why my statements are going to a previous address and they said once I'm in repayment they will send them to the correct address. **** couldn't confirm I was in the public forgiveness program or my repayment count which has never been on my information I thought they were supposed to have that up a year ago. Totally useless company. Can't help with anything. Too bad we don't have a choice but are stuck with a ****** company the government assigns us to. Lack of competition leads to poor service so they don't have to be good.

      Nelnet is a predatory entity that lies and does not work with their clients or make adjustments for their mistakes.

      I’ve been given so many contradictory bits of information and as someone who is responsible with my finances, they then contact me when my loans are “90 days overdue”

      They claimed they had no way of contacting me, which is a lie because I’ve had the same phone number since 2020 and I know I’ve spoken to them before on the phone number I have. When asked what phone number was in their system, it was a phone number I have never had.

      My credit score has since dipped over 200 points and I have appealed this decision two times, at least, and am appealing it AGAIN over, I believe, $87 in late payments. Seriously. 7 years on my credit score when I am 32 and would hope at some point to own a home. This really throws a wrench in my life and they don’t care and have expressed it as a “too bad so sad” situation.

      I won’t take this lying down. Sorry you work in a call center and hate your life. I’ve tried to refinance my loans several times and would do anything to get away from the trash company that Nelnet is. Everyone gives you a different answer but that’s not on them apparently.

      Dear ******** Dispute Department:
      I am writing to formally dispute an incorrect item on my ******** credit report related to my Nelnet Education Financial student loan account.
      Account Name: Nelnet Education Financial?Account Number: Account Number: ****….?Reported Issue: 90-Day Late Payment November/2020)
      This account is inaccurately reported as 90 days late. However:
      No Prior Delinquencies Were Reported: My credit report shows that in the months prior to the alleged 90-day delinquency, my payments were reported as current. There are no notations of a 30-day or 60-day late payment, which would be required to correctly reflect a 90-day delinquency under standard credit reporting practices.
      COVID-19 Relief Impact: My student loan was affected by relief provisions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Under the CARES Act and guidance from the U.S. Department of Education, federally held student loans were placed in administrative forbearance, during which time accounts were to be reported as current, not delinquent.
      FCRA Compliance: Reporting this account as 90 days late without accurate prior reporting of delinquency and despite protections in place constitutes incomplete and potentially inaccurate reporting under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
      Therefore, I respectfully request:
      Immediate investigation of this reporting;
      Correction or deletion of the 90-day late payment notation from my credit file;
      Update of the account status to reflect on-time payments, consistent with federal guidance related to COVID-19 forbearance, or otherwise report it as current if it was indeed in forbearance.
      I have enclosed supporting documentation, including:
      Copies of relevant credit report pages highlighting the account in question;
      Any prior statements showing on-time payments.
      Please complete your investigation within the timeframe required under the FCRA and provide me with written confirmation of the outcome.
      Thank you
      Sincerely,?**** * *****

      Student Loans are a scam! Borrowed when I was 18 in 2012. Paid religiously, until my husband lost his job and I couldn’t pay back. Then under the Trump admin, now student loans are on credit. I paid in full to bring my account up to date, but they WILL NOT grant a goodwill update to your credit, so **** YOU.

      Nelnet provides false information to its borrowers to prolong the payments for years in order to increase their revenue. Nelnet associates also do not take initiative in helping those to reduce their loan payments for the individual's better interest by expressing that qualifications for loan forgiveness have specific contingencies that do not align with the Federal Student Aid department.

      I had some loans forgiven. I received a check in February of 2025. I contacted them to figure out why. I was told it was for overpayment. I cashed the check on March 1, 2025. I receive an email April 18, 2025 saying that that check was made in error. By this point I've already cashed and used that money for bills. I never saw the email and had no idea that it was requested back. Then I receive an email today (May 21, 2025) saying that my payment is overdue. I didn't receive any other contact between April and today to let me know a payment plan would be set up. No phone call, no email, no letter. This seems like incredibly shady behavior. I also can't get a hold of anyone by their phone or live chat on their website. According to the live chat, "We are currently closed." Everything about this stinks.

      If Satan outsourced loan servicing, he’d call Nelnet Services. These folks looked at my promissory note, said “cute,” and tossed it like it was a CVS receipt. I’ve contacted them more times than you can count. Email? Ignored. Phone? Ghosted. Carrier pigeon? Might try next. Borrowed 18k from Discover, ended up here. Paid back 12k, still owe....drumroll please... 16k.
      Their “customer service” is like playing Uno with a toddler, chaotic, ruleless, and somehow you always end up owing more. I’m convinced the reps are just Sims characters stuck in a loop of “Please hold.” Meanwhile, they’re racking up interest like it’s Bitcoin in 2010.
      I’ve already filed complaints with the CFPB and FTC, and if this keeps up, I’ll file one with Beyoncé. Don’t walk away from this company, moonwalk, sprint, teleport. Just GO. I got forced into business with them due to a Discover student loans transfer and I should have gotten out immediately.

      My student loan company sold my loans during covid. During that process the data was not entered correctly in Nel Nets systems. I didnt receive any communication from NelNet. I received a letter from my original student loan company saying the loan was sold and to wait to hear form NelNet. Well that communication never came because they had the wrong information. Fast forward a couple months later and my credit score takes a nose dive for missed payments. I asked NelNet to adjust those missed payments and they told me to pound sand. Horrible company. If you can get a different company to own and support your loans I recommend it.

      While waiting for my loan to transfer to CRI the new loan company. They reported my loan as late to the credit bureau when I have been paying ON TIME. I am now in the middle a dispute which dropped my credit from 800 to 500. I am so upset as I pay all my loans on time. This is unacceptable. If I could say 0 stars i would
