On 8/25/25, My son took my computer to Computer Concepts, INC to have a new cooler installed. My husband is working to upgrade some components to his PC. The computer was working when we dropped it off but we didn't have the hardware needed to make the upgrade. We took it in and left it overnight. We picked it up the next day and they said they couldn't make the component work. That is not a problem, but now the computer is not working at all when it was in complete working order when we dropped it off. We called them the morning of 8/27 to let them know it wasn't working at all and they said to bring it in and they would take care of it. They had it all day and we went to pick it up. They said they can't do anything with it because we weren't charged for the initial work. We had no problem paying for any repairs needed. Again it was working when we dropped it off. They said they will not even attempt to fix the problem they created. They said they never even tested the computer to make sure it was working before picking it up.

    Business Response

    Date: 09/08/2025

We have a very lean record with the BBB and have been in business for 33+ years.

The computer was brought in on 08/26/2025.  We were asked to replace a cooler in the computer that was supposedly fully custom built by the customer.  It doesn't make sense that the cooler cannot be installed but they can build the full computer themselves.  This is a very simple replacement for someone who has built a custom PC; or we are being told a story.  The cooler was provided to us.  The cooler did not fit the motherboard, socket ****.  The customer was not charged and computer returned to them.

The computer was brought back in on 08/27/2025 because it was overheating after 10-15min. We were told it was not overheating before and after we worked on it, now it is. We did nothing to the computer, because the cooler given to us did not fit. Obviously, cooling was an issue or why was it brought in with a cooler to begin with? But now it is our fault?  This is an old custom-built PC and parts for the motherboard are very hard to find. We did not charge the customer and gave it back to them. We understand they are willing to pay but we do not buy used parts.  What is the customer wanting us to do?

I am rejecting this response because:

When we called *****, she was very dismissive about our issue and made it seem like we were trying to scam them. We have not requested them to pay anything we had to buy new parts to pay for the ones they broke. She didn't care about the service or that they broke our very expensive computer. I am very unhappy with the nothing they have done.

    Sincerely,
