****'s came out to install a new water heater. Once they were done, I went up in the attic with the guy to see the results and noticed my water drain pan was the same ***** one I had before. When I spoke up about it, he proceeded to tell me he could get me a new one for $200 more. I was like absolutely not. It was thru my home warranty people and to me if I'm getting a new water heater, then that's what I should get. They tried to say the water pan wasn't a 'part' of the hot water heater...actually it is! It's a component of the hot water heater and if the water heater is in the attic, to be up to code, you must have a water pan beneath it. SO after I spoke with the owner, he told me to send him pictures and then next thing I know they schedule to come out and install the pan. However, the guy that came to install it was super rude to my mother stating he was 'there out of the kindness of his heart.' This is laughable because you are actually here because it's your job and you were told to. Unfortunately my mom was the one that let them in and I was at work...got home and saw they installed a plastic pan! The pan I had before was an aluminum and that's what I should have had this replaced with. But no they chose a plastic pan knowing it's the cheapest and won't last long before I have to replace it again. I will NEVER let this plumbing company step foot in my house again and he's lucky I wasn't home the day he came! I'm still contemplating whether I'm going to take this to civil court or even write fox news about it. If this plumbing company was professional they would have given me the proper pan, but they are shady and trying to be vindictive by giving me a cheap plastic one. You will reap what you sow!
