Duped a cancer patient!!! My husband who is a cancer/chemo patient went to New Era Motors to find a decent used car to get him around and back and forth mainly to Dr ************* We told our salesman JT or ****** that he has been battling metastatic cancer. We found a 2015 VW Passat listed for $5999. We drove it and everything seemed to be working great. We knew when we bought it that it would need new tires. They did knock some off for that but with tax title and license paid $6500 cash. We took it to get new the tires and found out it needed new shocks. Not long after that all the lights started coming on. Then the oil light and engine light. We had to get an oil leak fixed then the ** went out. Now its still burning g oil somewhere. We contacted the ** and they claim there is nothing they can do. We knew buying a used car we would have small things to fixed but the car is literally falling apart. We think they reset everything before we bought it. I would not recommend them at all!!! They duped a cancer patient! Shame on them!!

Were genuinely sorry your husband has faced such challenging health issues and that you've had problems with the Passat. At New Era Motors, transparency is extremely important to **** provide free Carfax reports, welcome independent inspections, and encourage customers to thoroughly test-drive our vehicles before purchasing. Unfortunately, unforeseen mechanical issues can occur in used vehicles, despite our rigorous third-party state inspections. While we empathize deeply with your situation, the vehicle was sold AS-IS, with known factors like tire replacement clearly communicated upfront and compensated accordingly. Resetting warning lights is not something we practice or condone, as integrity is foundational to our business. We truly regret your experience wasnt what you'd hoped, and we sincerely wish your husband strength in his ongoing fight.

Thank you for sharing your concerns. Were sorry to hear about the issues youve experienced with your 2008 ********** Passat. While we strive to provide reliable vehicles and a positive customer experience, we understand that unexpected mechanical issues can occur, particularly with pre-owned *********** New Era Motors, we take several steps to ensure the transparency and quality of our inventory:1?? Third-Party State Inspections: Every vehicle undergoes a third-party state inspection, and the reports are placed in the glove box for customers to review before purchase.2?? Free Carfax Reports: We provide a free Carfax report for every vehicle, accessible directly from our website, so customers can see the vehicles history and make an informed decision.3?? Encouragement of Pre-Purchase Inspections: We actively encourage customers to have vehicles inspected by a trusted mechanic before purchase for additional peace of ******* a cash-only dealership, all vehicles are sold as-is, which is communicated clearly at the time of sale. That said, we understand how frustrating this situation must be. While we cant predict or prevent future mechanical issues, we aim to help our customers by providing as much upfront information as possible. We appreciate your feedback and hope to improve based on this experience. Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns.

Hi Terick,Thank you for sharing your experience. Im sorry to hear about the issues with your ***** Avalanche. We genuinely aim to provide reliable vehicles and conduct thorough third-party inspections to ensure quality. However, as with any used vehicle, unforeseen issues can arise, which is why we encourage buyers to have a pre-purchase inspection done independently if they wish. Its disappointing to hear you had trouble reaching usour team strives for open communication, and well review this internally to improve. If theres anything further we can assist you with, please dont hesitate to reach out directly. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to ensure better experiences for future customers.

I originally bought a ***** Odyssey from **** as he came highly recommend from three different friends and is close to home. The car did well and as expected for age/price. Most recently, I purchased this car from him 5/29, only driving about 25 miles/five days a week. The light came on 6/20 and I had it towed to the mechanic just for precaution. The problem was a switch that was not regulating the oil through the system. We replaced the switch and the code still goes off. The diagnosis is work around the switch and keep driving in hopes it wont blow or rebuild the engine. No response from New Era Motors. As is sales or not, a $5,300 car purchase for three weeks is not the loyalty customer service I look for. One star here since one car did well, but no effort to do right by their car in this clear an issue is a damaging risk for a solo momma out here. The second purchase is a solid zero-star rating from me.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We're glad to hear that your first purchase from **** was satisfactory, and we appreciate your loyalty in choosing to buy from us again. We understand your concerns regarding the recent purchase of the ***** Odyssey. All our sales are made on an "As Is" basis, but we strive to provide as much information and support as possible to our customers. Each car we sell comes with a free Carfax report and undergoes a rigorous third-party state inspection to ensure it meets safety and performance standards. We always encourage our customers, especially those who are friends of ****, to get a pre-purchase inspection for added peace of mind. It sounds like your mechanic has determined that the issue is related to a faulty sensor, which is quite common in older used cars, particularly those around the $5,300 price range. While the car is deemed safe to drive, we understand that the situation is stressful, especially for a solo mom. We regret any inconvenience this has caused you. Again, we appreciate your feedback and your business. We hope this vehicle will continue to serve you well despite the current issue.

This Dealership sold me a 2010 Audi Q7 Exactly 2 weeks after I purchased the car it was in the shop and Needed $4,000 + worth of work, I Purchased the car at $9,000 their is no way the dealership wasnt aware of the Oil leak and a plethora of other problems this car have, I havent driven the car in a month and Im 2.5 months into the purchase, They offered me $350 good Faith for $4,000+ worth of work, Worst experience ever, Purchase at your OWN RISK WITH THEM!!!

I am writing in response to the complaint filed by ******************************* regarding her purchase of a 2010 Audi Q7 from New Era Motors on February 8, 2024. We take all customer feedback seriously and would like to address the points raised in her complaint.Firstly, ******************** purchased the vehicle "As Is," which means that the vehicle was sold without any warranty from the dealership. The "As Is" designation indicates that the buyer accepts the vehicle in its current condition and assumes all responsibility for any issues that *** arise after the sale. This is standard practice in the automotive industry, and we make sure all customers are aware of this condition at the time of purchase.Regarding the statement, "This Dealership sold me a 2010 Audi Q7. Exactly 2 weeks after I purchased the car, it was in the shop and needed $4,000+ worth of work," we would like to clarify that all vehicles sold by New Era Motors undergo a thorough third-party state inspection to ensure transparency and compliance with safety standards. While we strive to ensure the highest quality of our vehicles, it is not always possible to predict or detect all potential issues, especially with used cars.Additionally, we offer all customers the opportunity to get a third-party purchase inspection before finalizing their purchase. This allows customers to have an independent assessment of the vehicle's condition and to make an informed decision based on that information. We encourage our customers to take advantage of this service to ensure they are fully aware of the vehicle's status before completing the transaction.Regarding the statement, "They offered me $350 good Faith for $4,000+ worth of work, Worst experience ever, Purchase at your OWN RISK WITH THEM!!!" we did indeed offer ******************** a goodwill payment of $350. This gesture was made to show our commitment to customer satisfaction, despite the fact that we were not obligated to do so. The offer was accompanied by a document that ******************** signed, acknowledging that the dealership was not creating any warranty through this goodwill payment and disclaiming any further liability on our part.We cannot control what happens to a vehicle after it leaves our dealership, which is why we sell cars "As Is." We regret that ******************** has experienced issues with her vehicle, but we must reiterate that the responsibility for the vehicle's condition post-purchase lies with the buyer. Our records show that we sell over 100 cars a month, and while we strive to ensure every customer has a positive experience, we cannot guarantee the future performance of used vehicles.Additionally, the vehicle was sold with a complimentary Carfax report, which provided a complete history of the car. This report was made available to ******************** to ensure transparency and to assist her in making an informed decision about the vehicles condition and history. We encourage all our customers to review these reports thoroughly before completing their purchase to better understand the vehicles past and to set accurate expectations for its future performance and maintenance needs. In conclusion, we are committed to transparency and customer satisfaction at **********************. We regret that ******************** is dissatisfied with her purchase, but we believe we acted in good faith and in accordance with industry standards.

Disappointed in this establishment’s integrity. My wife bought a vehicle and within 2 weeks had two major repairs. After 4 weeks it broke down on her entirely overheating on the interstate. After an in depth inspection the mechanic said it needs a new engine. This thing was a lemon from the start and had burned through all the oil that was put in it. A new engine is more than the value of the car. Spoke to Kellen and the company refuses to take any positive action. Stay clear from this lot.

Thank you for taking the time to express your concerns to the Better
Business Bureau regarding your experience with New Era Motors and the
2009 Subaru Forester purchased on December 2, 2023. We t*** such
feedback seriously, as it helps us to continually improve our services
    and customer interactions.
After reviewing the details of your complaint and the vehicle's
purchase agreement, I would like to address the issues you've raised:
Vehicle Condition at Time of Purchase: The 2009 Subaru Forester was
sold on an "As Is" basis, which was clearly stated in the purchase
agreement. This means that the vehicle was sold without any warranty,
and the buyer assumes the risk for any repairs or problems that may
occur post-sale. When selling a vehicle "As Is," we ensure that it
meets the legal standards for sale and provide as much information as
possible about its condition at the time of sale.
Subsequent Vehicle Issues: According to our records, the vehicle was
in working condition for two weeks before any issues arose, and the
problems you encountered began approximately 14 days after the
purchase with the need to replace the power steering and alternator
belts. On December 31, 2023, the vehicle experienced overheating,
which, as you reported, was exacerbated by continuing to drive it
under these conditions. This likely contributed to the need to rebuild
the motor. While we sympathize with your situation, the decision to
continue driving a vehicle while it is overheating can unfortunately
    lead to more severe damage.
Interaction with Kellen L***: Our representative, Kellen L***,
reviewed the situation with you on January 9, 2024. He expressed our
sympathies for the difficulties you faced but reiterated the terms of
the "As Is" sale. It's important to understand that "As Is" sales are
a common practice in the used car industry, especially for older
    vehicles.
While we understand that the situation is frustrating, the nature of
the "As Is" sale and the events that transpired after the purchase
place the responsibility for these repairs on the vehicle owner. We
provided all available information about the vehicle's condition at
the time of sale and adhered to all relevant laws and regulations.
We regret that your experience with the vehicle has not been positive,
and while we are not in a position to offer a resolution contrary to
the "As Is" agreement, we are always willing to provide advice and
guidance on vehicle maintenance and care.
We appreciate your business and are sorry that this situation has not
met your expectations. If you have any further concerns or need advice
on vehicle maintenance, please feel free to contact us.

On October 17,2023 I went to test drive a few cars at New Era Motors When I arrived I test drove 3 vehicles and the one I picked was a 2015 QX60. Tyler Cauchy(the sales person) and myself test drove the car about 2 min down the rode and back. I picked the car up on October 18, 2023. Upon really driving I realized the car had a jerk and drag to it.
I called Tyler whom advised me that I had a CV2 transmission and that was normal.
I decided it was not normal being I just spent $5,600(plus $3000 for rental car fees) on my current vehicle which needed a transmission, being I had already explained this to the New Era Staff. I advised them I could not afford another situation. Hours later I got a phone call from ******’s transmission who advised that there was metal in all fluids in the vehicle that I had newly purchased and that the transmission was bad. I then called immediately and spoke with Gretchin A******* who advised that she would call ******* and verify this information and give me a call right back. She also stated “there is no way to check for a bad transmission”. I then explained how it worked. .I called the next day and spoke with Lea who advised me again that someone would be reaching out to me. NOTHING! Finally almost 3 days later the General Manager calls me back and advise me that they will offer me a GOOD WILL payment of $1000 and I can spend the rest of my money and put a new transmission in.
Being a single mother of 5 who has not even made the first car payment and notified them the next day that something was wrong with the vehicle. I know North Carolina does not have a no lemon law but what about the integrity of a business. I believe this company knew that this was a bad car and still did not care. Now the vehicle is sitting in my driveway and cannot be moved, I feel cheated and taken advantage of. I am broke and without a car.

Thank you for reaching out to us regarding this issue with Ms. ********** *****.
Per NC law all of our vehicles are taken to a 3rd party NC inspection station to make sure they meet all the mechanical requirements set forth by the state of NC.
Ms. ***** came to our lot on 10/16/2023 looking for a vehicle. She spent roughly 3 hours looking and test driving 4 different vehicles. Ms. ***** then decided on a 2015 Infiniti Qx60. We do recommend and allow all of our customers to take the vehicle for an independent 3rd party inspection. Ms. ***** declined to do so. Her reasoning was that she was tired of paying for a rental car and wanted to finish this deal up “quickly”. We then stayed after business hours to meet these requirements for Ms. *****.
We did receive a phone call from Ms. ***** on 10/25/2023 in which the office manager took the complaint and explained our as-is policy. Our General Manager did try to reach out later that afternoon, and again the next day. It was at this time we realized that Ms. ***** had given us the incorrect phone number. Ms. ***** then called again on 10/27/2023 and gave her correct contact info to one of our sales staff.
The afternoon of 10/27/2023 our general manager called Ms. *****, she explained her car was having issues. Even though we were under no legal obligation to do so we offered Ms. ***** $1,000 to help with her repairs. Ms. ***** immediately declined.
Ms. ***** bought this vehicle as-is with no warranty or returns. We have attached the following documents supporting this.
*The Buyers Guide, Bill of Sale, and waiver of extended warranty. These all state the sale is As-Is with No warranty. They have all been signed and dated at time of transaction by Ms. *****.
*The NC Inspection report is also included, showing that it passed NC Inspection standards.
    Regards.

Informed them of my situation where my girlfriend was dying of cancer and I needed a reliable car, along with having to move from her house as it was being sold. Spent $5300 on a car , $500 to haul it back. $200 on battery, ( expected that)Miscommunication on title being mailed. 10-12 days later received it. Engine lights, misfire on cyl2, If you see that, abort( now I know) $209 on a battery,$75on oil change,$855 on diagnostic, tune up and lifetime alignment , 3days, with 10 minute trips to the store, & the temp light comes on. ,back to garage, Head gasket is shot, which is why it showed a cyl 2 misfire. He disconnected the battery to reset the engine lights. Which is why the car wouldn’t start when I got it , and had to buy a new battery. $7100 worth of junk. Multiple calls, and texts. Won’t do anything for me.

Make sure you have someone else check any car before purchase. They seem to be in cahoots with their "3rd party" inspector. We bought a car that should not have passed inspection. We took it into a shop within a week of purchase and put $5,000 into the car. Were told there were new brakes when in fact the brakes should not have passed inspection as they were down to the rotors and everything had to be replaced. Buyer be ware, but also they will tell you lies.

I bought a car from these people in May of this year. 2010 Jeep Cherokee. Before the first payment was do the car had a blown gasket, even the mechanic said they had to have known the car was a piece of crap, if not then the mechanics are not worth the money they are paid.Paid 2500 dollars down on vehicle, and it would have cost 5,000.00to have it fixed. No wonder not BBB accredited. Would like to give 0
