Just picked as half-dozen doughnuts and two white milks from the Krispy Kreme drive thru in ********** **. The milks were not expired by their expiration date but one of the milks was very obviously rancid when smelling it before I took a sip. I thought, well it isnt expired, It must have been part of a case that was left out of the cooler (or in the sun) for too long. I went back to just get my money back for the milk. I handed the milk to the drive thru attendant (who was very helpful) after explaining the situation. Then, *****, the manager comes over to investigate the situation. Her thorough detective work of taking a sip of the milk left her with the conclusion that the milk wasnt bad. Ladies and gentlemen, that milk smelled like a wet tarp that had been sitting in water for about 6 months. It smelled more like mushroom than milk. She quickly dumped it out most likely because she knew that a cooler full of rancid milk that are being handed out to paying customers is not a good look for a manger. The other milk did not smell like that. Long story short, she wouldnt give us a refund, instead gave us another milk. I told I just wanted a refund, not another potentially rancid milk. She knew that milk was bad and was trying to get rid of it before the expiration date so she didnt have to annotate it as a loss. She definitely didnt want to give a refund, because then she may have to explain to someone at a higher echelon, why she gave out certain refunds. Again, if wouldnt be a good look from upper management for *****, the manager at Krispy Kreme on ************** in ********** **, to be handing out rancid milk to paying customers. So I see why she may want to keep it quiet, but its not right. I think the way she handled it by quickly dumping out the milk and then turning around and saying the milk was fine sounded a bit dishonest and she wasnt very good at hiding it with her facial expressions. $2.50 milk isnt worth diminishing your brand image.Review from Bryan K

I added $20 to my Krispy Kreme account via their app on 01/08/2024. I tried making a purchase about 2 weeks later on 02/24/2024 and noticed my $20 was no longer showing up in my account on the app. I contacted Krispy Kreme via their online contact form and was emailed a reference number. I never received any follow up so I called on 02/28 and 03/11. Both times I called the representatives were friendly and assured me I would receive follow up via email but I never did. Today I disputed the charges with my bank since I was not able to use my money for this company or receive any communication back on why the funds were taken from my account.Review from Calvin N

I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with my recent visit to Krispy Kreme. Today, I went to the store with my son, excited to take advantage of the Leap Day special and enjoy some delicious donuts. However, what should have been a delightful experience turned into a complete nightmare.Upon arriving at the store, I was dismayed to find that despite the "Hot Now" sign being illuminated, I was unable to purchase any hot donuts. When I inquired about this discrepancy, I was rudely informed by the manager on duty that they could not sell hot donuts until the cold ones were depleted. As a long-time customer of **********************, I have never encountered such a preposterous policy. The entire purpose of the "Hot Now" sign is to indicate the availability of fresh, hot donuts, and to be denied this experience was both baffling and disappointing. In addition to this outrageous policy, the behavior of the staff further exacerbated my dissatisfaction. The manager's dismissive attitude and refusal to provide a refund when requested was completely unprofessional. Moreover, the overall demeanor of the staff was appalling, with rudeness permeating every interaction. To make matters worse, I witnessed an incident involving an elderly lady in line who needed to use the restroom. When she approached an employee for the restroom code, she was callously informed that she would have to wait in line to make a purchase before receiving the code. It is utterly unacceptable to deny basic human dignity to someone in need, especially an elderly individual. The lack of basic customer service skills exhibited by the staff at this location is truly disheartening. It is clear that comprehensive training in customer relations is desperately needed.Review from DONALD L

Malicious and unprofessional service!. I started my own company a few years back and was heading to a 1st time meeting with a potential company to partner with. He mentioned he likes Krispy Kreme and I thought it would be a great 1st meeting piece offering. I visited the location on **********************************************************. I went through the drive-thru and ordered a 3 count box of doughnuts, paid my money, and received my sealed box. After driving 30 min to make it my meeting, handing him the sealed box, was it opened to find no doughnuts but a half eaten sausage sandwich! Completely disgusting, humiliating, and malicious! He thought I was playing some sick twisted joke on him! I assured him I had no parts of this and would get to the bottom of this. Needless to say that business partnership is in question and most likely wont be moving forward! I went to location to address the incident and was rudely meet with attitude and unwillingness to assist me at all. Outraged!Review from Pamela H

I bought doughnuts in Buford Ga on December 12 2023. These doughnuts are not consistent with what I have known a Krispy Kreme doughnut to be. Your price has went up and your icing has disappeared. If I wanted bread I could have got that at home. The Chattanooga Tn Krispy Kreme is the same. No icing!! I won’t be buying from either of you! (Not enough glaze!— just a haze)Review from Selena L

Today (August 21, 2023) is the first back day for Montgomery County Public School (Maryland) teachers. As Co-Vice President of School Support for Stone Mill Elementary School and Treasurer of Cabin John Middle School, we have in the past placed monthly large orders from Krispy Kreme at Falls Grove Plaza (Rockville, Maryland). We've never had any problems until today. Our school placed a combined order of $386.17. Upon our arrival, Cabin John's order was 20 minutes late and Stone Mill's order was completely messed up. When I picked up the order at 7:15 am, I received 5 totes of coffee, 4 dozen boxes of "stuff" (which I thought were donuts), several 1/2 boxes of creme, sugars, lids, and cup sleeves, and 5 sets of cups (total 50 cups). At our back to school event, one of our board members unpacked the donut boxes and saw that they did not have ANY donuts in them. The donut boxes were filled with lids, cup sleeves, creamer, and sugars. I went back to the store at 11:30 am and explained the situation. The manager was completely disrespectful, rude and impossible to work with. She said "the security camera showed that you took 4 dozen boxes". I said the camera does not have X-ray vision so you can't see what's inside the boxes and I showed her the pictures taken of the boxes that had 0 donuts in them. She became agitated and rude. She said, "Is this how you talk to people?" I said, "I am not gonna lie just to get 4 dozen donuts and it is way too much for my family of 4. I will report to corporate if I do not get my donuts right now." She said, "go ahead and report me," and stormed away. Both Stone Mill ES and Cabin John students, teachers, and parents visit this place on a weekly basis (if not several times a week). I called the corporate headquarters and reported the incident right after. I do hope someone gets back to me soon. In the mean time, I want others to know about the poor service I received today.Review from A.R.L76

I would be 100% be willing to make a new account and merge the old one to it, but I think it gives an error message because I want to use my only phone number. So in over 2 years, you don’t respond to complaints and haven’t resolved the issue?!? That’s a problemCustomer Response

It is disappointing to come to the BBB site to file what I think is a unique complaint about the Memphis, TN location, which is in the Elvis Presley tourism district, only to find out that the poor customer service and total lack of business policy is engraved in the culture of Krispy Kreme. This store never uses the HOT sign, will not open during posted business times (even today on .86 cent day, the workers are standing around and the line is out of the drive, but the doors are locked), and workers are extremely rude. Whenever I visit, one worker openly rolls her eyes at me, I witnessed another one threaten to "Beat the ***** out of a customer who only wanted to be shown respect. I can see that it is time to make a social media post about this company and invite others to post videos because I have plenty. I am tired of making formal complaints that are ignored. It is time for action. I wish I could leave zero stars.Review from Nancy T

Horrible store and extremely unprofessional workers. The store is disgustingly dirty and store hours for drive through are never correct. The donuts are stale and never hot even when sign is lit. Corporate needs to do a surprise visit and either close the store or do a total change of management.Review from Linda K
