I was billed for an estimate for surgery on December 23, 2022, which I paid in full. Surgery was December 28, 2022. The estimate was way over the actual amount billed. In addition, more of my maximum out of pocket had been accumulated when NHRMC billed insurance. ***************** confirmed they have processed the claim and sent payment to NHRMC, however, ***** says they have not processed it yet. It's been four months and I believe I am owed about $1,100 from NHRMC. I have contacted NHRMC three separate times and I only get a response of "whenever we get it processed you'll get a refund if you are due a refund and we can't tell you when that will be." I need this resolved one way or another and NHRMC will not help me move this along. I need some customer service.

7/30/22 I took my step-daughter to the ER, she has an out of state health care plan (Medicaid). They refuse to send the documentation directly to the insurance company so they can pay the ER visit. However, the health care plan will not accept a bill from me because it is not coming directly from the hospital. All I asked for them to do is to fax the information to the health care plan and they refused. This is very stressful because who can afford out of pocket over a thousand dollars. This is the second time I have had issues with the billing department not submitting claims or even attempting to do anything for a patient, billing wise. I really just want them to send the documentation to the insurance company so they can take care of it.

Hello, I'm disabled and I'm on Social Security disability. I have Medicaid and it covers my medical bills at hospitals and doctors, as well as prescriptions. New Hanover Regional Hospital in Wilmington North Carolina is trying to charge me several debts from when I was in the hospital for a suicide attempt and some other stuff associated to it. I contacted the hospital and said I don't owe you guys anything, Medicaid will cover it. They said it's past the deadline and we never received payment. I said that's because I wasn't obliged to pay you, I was insured. They tried to tell me I was wrong even though I'm not, so I talked to their patient Financial Services representative. She wouldn't listen to anything I had to say and she wanted to act in control instead of helping me with the Medicaid Claim. She said they transferred the debts to financial data systems and Paragon Revenue group and some other surgeon group. I do not owe any debts to New Hanover Regional hospital.

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2021/10/21) */ Contact Name and Title: Debra O****** Contact Phone: XXXXXXXXXX Contact Email: ************@nhrmc.org Thank you for the information. We are updating and correcting the accounts to bill Medicaid and remove from collections. Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2021/10/22) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Hello, I contacted financial data systems yesterday and they refused to remove my negative marks on my credit. And then I contacted Wilmington Health and Eastern Carolina Physicians because you also transferred accounts to them. They all said that I owe them money even though I don't. So then I contacted an attorney with Legal Aid Services in Raleigh. I need those negative marks removed immediately. Thanks, ******.
