    The staff at the Richard Petty Museum came across as amateurs when it came to dealing with damaged items they sent me. First item damaged was a book. Both the front and back corners at the bottom of the book were smashed in like the book had been dropped from a height and landed squarely on a hard surface. But the spine of the book at the top was also smashed along with the book cover jacket being torn. Second damaged item was a Richard Petty die-cast car. The damage was from glue residue from clear packing tape touching the rear bumper of the car which was inside the molded styrofoam protective shells. There was also damage to the rubber hood strap. This is where the museum staff showed their amateurish. The museum staff want photos of all the damage along plus the shipping box and the die-cast car box. They first said that this damage occurred during shipping. But the shipping box had no physical damage inside or out. They then said they never examine items after Richard Petty autographs the items. Then they could not find my order details and when the prepaid shipping return label was emailed to me they specifically wrote what size box I had to send the items back in and they put the same address as the sender and receiver to cut-down on shipping costs. I did email them saying I had mailed the items encase there was a shipping problem. When I received the replacement items a week later the replacement book still had some minor damage on the spine. On the replacement die-cast car there was now clear packing tape inside the styrofoam shell at both ends of the car. At least the tape glue side was not touching the car. But there was other slight scuff damage to the car paint in several spots from a hard plastic cover that separates the car from the top styrofoam shell. Finally, the serial number on the car did not match the serial number on the decorative car box. I'm afraid to complain further, thus the reason for my poor review of the Richard Petty Museum.

    We try very hard to please every customer! We are sorry if this one was not happy with their product. All they would have to do is send it back for a refund.

    We apologize for the inconvenience and frustration experienced by this customer. We have attempted to correct this situation by providing a prepaid return shipping label for the damaged goods. The prepaid label is specific to a particular box size and weight to avoid shipping delays. As the customer has acknowledged, we did attempt to replace the items received in a damaged condition. Apparently, this effort and replacement items did not satisfy the customer. We would be happy to provide a full refund with the return of the alleged defective goods. Again, we are sorry for apparently failing to meet the expectations of our customer and will provide a full refund with the return of the items.

    When we originally received the damaged items, we contacted the Richard Petty Muesum. We did everything that the Richard Petty Muesum asked of us to prove we received damaged items and to get replacements. So, when the Richard Petty Muesum does not care enough to verify that the replacement items they'll be sending back to me are undamaged. What am I to think, except that the Richard Petty Muesum does not care about customer service and seeing that undamaged items will replace damaged items. If we did not care about keeping the items we would return them for a full refund but, we wanted the items. Just in an undamaged condition.
