  When you filed your tax extension with e.file-tax.net, you also opted in to a FileSmart membership which provides many year-round benefits including protection from IRS notices, Ask An Expert Tax advice, access to our library of resources such as Tax Courses and Budgeting tools and the ability to complete your tax return with our Do It Yourself tax software. There is a monthly membership fee associated with these services. You can cancel your membership at any time by logging into your account to manage your subscription. Please note that, per your request, we have canceled your FileSmart membership for you. Should you need further assistance, our customer service team can be reached at ********************.   I still don't know if my request was excepted or not so I ended up filing for an extension twice. Not sure what is happening. I guess I will see.

  Never just turn over your credit card info to this company. You will be at their mercy. This company is used by a local family-run tax preparation company. I was in shock last year not realizing that E.file-tax.net had been charging $7.95 every month from the first day I signed on in April to the end of 2022. This was labeled an "IRS Shield". Why you need that for 9 months was never explained. I did not notice and later, I still did not understand why this was happening. That was in addition to 2 separate charges of $49.00 & $29.95 which were charged 4 days apart in April of 2022 which also makes no sense because I had already paid big bucks to the company that prepared the taxes! I will never use any tax preparer who uses E.File.

  We are an authorized e-file provider with the *** and should a customer decide to e-file, our service has a fee in order to cover the costs associated with protecting user data and to maintain our connection with the *** as specified on our site. At e.file-tax.net we also offer additional tax services and a few membership options, one of which is called *** Shield. *** Shield provides our customers with personalized help from our tax experts should you receive a letter from the ***. Our team will review your case and propose a solution. Many customers sign up for this membership after using e.file-tax.net to file for an extension. There is no accidental way to sign up. You have to navigate through a few screens to confirm that you want this service. We also provide email notifications before we begin the monthly charge which includes information on how to cancel the service at any time. The $49 fee is a pre-paid benefit presented to our customers where they can lock in a discounted rate with one of our world-class CPAs if they wish for us to complete their tax return for them. This is completely optional, however, we will gladly refund our customers if they later decide not to use this discounted service. We regret any misunderstanding or confusion that we may have caused as we take great pride in servicing our customers with transparent pricing and a top notch user experience!

  I could not be more impressed with an on-*************** to file for a tax extension. The forms were not complicated, and the submission was easy. Due to a mistake on my part , my submission was rejected. After a bit of communication, it was determined that ********** had been kind enough to submit an extension on my behalf. Thanks to E-file and their customer service, everything has been resolved. Company is A1!

  Very unethical. They get you to create an account before telling you the cost is $29.95 to use their free efile service! They also force you to provide your phone number to create the account so they can send you spam texts. They have no need to have your phone number to efile an extension other than for their own purposes. I had already downloaded the free extension form direct from the *** website, so they did nothing for me except harvest personal information. If they were ethical they would tell you upfront they charge $29.95 to efile a simple form, but then people wouldnt give them all their personal info for them and probably others they give your info, to email and text you services! They have zero need for your phone number, yet Force you to provide it to create an account!

  It seems that the customers primary complaint is that our business is unethical, which is farthest from the truth. We DO help to facilitate the filing of tax extensions at no charge if you select the free option, which requires you to print and mail the extension to the **** This is 100% free! If you choose to e-file, our service has a fee in order to cover the costs associated with protecting user data and to maintain our connection with the *** as specified on our site. This paid option also provides an electronic acknowledgement from the *** which is only available through approved eFile providers, such as ourselves.Additionally, we do NOT require the customer to submit their phone number. This piece of data is optional and in no way is it required to submit an extension. The data that we do gather is necessary to share with the *** and potentially used to contact the customer regarding their account, if need be. We 100% NEVER sell any user data and always uphold our privacy policy.We regret any misunderstanding or confusion that we may have caused ******* as we take great pride in servicing our customers with transparent pricing and a top notch user experience!
