Employee ***** came out, talked about work was going to be done and gave written proposal on Rental property. Sign contract, gave deposit and didn't get copy of contract until the day before work was done. ***** didn't say what time workers would start work. Because rental property was vacant and inside being painted from roof leaking. I put up security cameras outside of home so if break in the home. Workers started at 6:30am in dark and showed up without any materials. They did not install any Ice and Water Barrier on any valleys or eves. After I looked back from cameras, because workers started slamming bundles of shingles on various areas, breaking boards and supports in rafters, shaking pictures off walls and ceiling fans. Workers cat calling female neighbors. ***** called wanting full payment for work and told him that No Ice and Water Barrier was installed. ***** said "He didn't do the work on the roof but want my money." Told him they had breached the contract. Then Owner ********************* called with ***** and I asked "Are you going to install any Ice and Water Barrier?" ***** said "State does not require it on roofs and I have done Thousands of roofs without it on roofs." I said "It was in my contract so you Breached your own contract." Then Attorney contacted me over his money and told Attorney what workers didn't do. Now in Courts they wanting money for work not done. Roof be redone before insurance will cover the home policy. ***Advise any past customers to check roofs for Ice and Water Barrier was installed on all metal eves, before Snow or Ice Damming damage on roofs. ***************** will Not cover your home policy, if roofer did Not installed it, with insurance adjuster. Roofer work only covers for 2 years in contract. READ your Contract plus Disclaimer before giving any money out. I gladly give anyone pictures of work Not done.

    The Shingle Master, LLC Response

Dear ****************** and ******************,We are sorry to hear about your concerns and take all feedback seriously, as we are committed to delivering the highest quality of service to our customers. However, we must address some inaccuracies in your review to provide clarity on the situation.1.Project Scope and Installation:The Project Scope Agreement, signed by ******************, clearly outlined the materials and installation methods for your roof replacement. We upgraded your roof to a 50-year GAF Timberline HDZ Architectural shingle and used full synthetic underlayment instead of the 25-year 3-tab shingles and felt paper covered by your insurance. Additionally, we installed Ice and Water Barrier in the valleys, around all roof penetrations, and at roof-to-wall intersections, in full compliance with the agreed-upon scope of work and local code requirements. While Ice and Water Barrier is not required along the ***** in southern climates, we ensured it was installed in critical areas where it provides the most benefit.2.Communication and Scheduling:On May 29, 2024, two days prior to the roof installation, we sent an email outlining important details, including preparation tips and what to expect during the roofing process. This included a reminder about potential debris and the importance of securing outdoor items. Our team also kept you informed throughout the project, and we promptly addressed any concerns you raised.3.Allegations of Misconduct:We take allegations of unprofessional behavior very seriously. However, the claim regarding our crew catcalling neighbors is particularly surprising, as your property is in a rural area with no immediate neighbors nearby. No evidence was provided to support this claim, and we have not received similar complaints about our crew, who are trained to maintain professionalism at all times.4.Final Payment and Legal Action:Despite our efforts to address your concerns and complete the project to a high standard, you have refused to pay the remaining balance owed, even after receiving full insurance proceeds. We have made numerous attempts to resolve this matter amicably, but given the circumstances, we were left with no choice but to pursue legal action to recover the outstanding balance. We value our customers and strive to ensure satisfaction with every project. However, we also have a responsibility to uphold the terms of our agreements and to protect our business and employees from unfounded claims. We are open to further discussions to resolve this matter and hope to reach a fair resolution.Thank you for your attention.Sincerely,The Shingle Master Team
