We hired **** Davis Restoration in Oct 2023 after a plumbing issue caused a water leak in our bathroom. What followed was a nightmare. Many crews came and went, often redoing the same work a previous crew had botched. The first ******* tasked with drywall, walked off the job without warning, saying his boss told him to stop because **** Davis owed him a lot of money from previous jobs. He refused to continue until they paid him and he left our downstairs completely covered in drywall dust. The original project manager was wildly unprofessionalhe seemed drunk most times he showed up. He brought in guys to try to fix the mess, & they had to redo half of what had already been done. We lived in a construction zone for half a year. That PM was fired, and a new one stepped in, promising to get things back on track. The President came to our house & acknowledged the disaster, promising a better experience moving forward. The project was eventually mostly completed & we wanted them out of our home. Fast forward 6 months: the work was falling apart, yet another project manager came. He admitted the original work was terrible, pointing out cracked walls, unfinished paint, & sloppy work. Again, workers came & went to redo the previous work. We had to keep taking time off workonce, we stayed home expecting repairs, only for the crew to spend the entire day cleaning a gallon of paint they had dropped on our front porch. Other times, no one showed up. We have now received an invoice showing charges for work that was NEVER DONE in our home. They are now threatening to put a lien on our home over work that we were told was covered by insurance, AND work that was never done! Thousands in fake line items- painted rooms that were never touched, square footage calculations that dont reflect reality, and a $1,300 vanity we had to pay for out of pocket that they failed to submit for reimbursement. Were fighting to be sure we dont have to pay for their **************** fraud.

Paul Davis Restoration of Raleigh Durham was contracted to restore my property after a fire on January ******. I got a visit from **** ****** who was the president of the franchise at that time who assured us they were willing and capable of doing the work. We would later learn that **** Davis was robbing ***** to pay **** and monies paid was not going to pay the subcontractors (**************** and others) so they would stop coming to site. Failed inspections (5) and we lost 25 days. With over 100K paid and this behavior was continuing. There were material purchased for my project that was taken from the site ( by the ** ****** ******* -*****) to use at another customers property for use when it was paid for by us and **********. My daughter questioned her and told her to return it to the property and she stated it was dumped... but when my daughter sent an email and copied the CEO and COO ( ****************************************************** ********************************************* The counter top was then returned to site by ****** Blalock ***** who stated it was going to be used for another customer until my daughter told her to bring it back. **** Davis contractors were also stealing power from my neighbor when it was caught and brought to the attention of ****** ******** (first **) and to ***** ******** (COO) . ********* requested a meeting with the **'s, Nationwide and ***** and explained what had taken place over the past 10 months and provided ***************** and ***** exact words was this was a s*** show. Indeed it was. He apologized and stated this isn't the way **** Davis does business and stated he couldn't change what had happened but could offer some financial compensation to lessen the sting. I hadn't heard from ***** and there has been no reply from *** Hillier from either email that I've sent nor has he returned my calls to his office. The framing company that they hired completely left out a window the pantry, linen closet, and every window in the how was reduced in size.

On 4/8/2024, I requested an estimate from Paul Davis Restoration of Raleigh Durham for restoration services following a fire accident at my property on 4/4/2024. Someone from the company came to the property for estimate. I asked them to provide high level estimate only and mentioned to them there is no guarantee that i would be going with them. He said that it should be fine. He just asked me to sign a paper seeking permission to enter the premises and to take pictures , which i did. The company provided an estimate, but we ultimately decided not to use their services as our insurance suggested us to use an other restoration company. To my surprise, I received an invoice (Invoice Number: [1963] from **** Davis Restoration amounting to 5% of the estimated cost for services. This charge was unexpected as I did not engage the company for any restoration work. There was no communication made prior mention of a fee for the estimate or a penalty for not proceeding with their services.I contacted the company for clarification, but they insist that the charge is valid. Unfortunately, I am currently undergoing significant personal and financial challenges, and I am unable to pay any additional amounts at this time. I believe this charge is unfair and not adequately justified.I kindly request that the BBB assist in resolving this matter by having Paul Davis Restoration of Raleigh Durham adjust or waive this invoice. I am seeking a fair resolution based on the circumstances and the lack of clear communication regarding any such fees.
