About

About This Business

Products and Services

Alcohol/Drug Council Of NC was established in the mid 1960's to fund basic research at UNC, Duke, and Bowman Gray Medical Schools with statewide United Way funds. In 1971, the Board of United Health Services determined that drug addiction and abuse was the #1 unmet health need in the United States and changed the mission of the agency to helping addicted people and their families. The legislation requires the use of certified addiction counselors in all residential treatment settings and in all public mental health centers. Currently, ADCNC is working on greater access to treatment through "Right to Treatment" legislation and development of a strategic plan for substance abuse for the state.

However, BBB does not verify the accuracy of information provided by third parties, and does not guarantee the accuracy of any information in Business Profiles.

When considering complaint information, please take into account the company's size and volume of transactions, and understand that the nature of complaints and a firm's responses to them are often more important than the number of complaints.

BBB Business Profiles generally cover a three-year reporting period. BBB Business Profiles are subject to change at any time. If you choose to do business with this business, please let the business know that you contacted BBB for a BBB Business Profile.
