    Original date 4-11-2001. Recent attempt to rectify: 6-2023 My husband died, allowed Montlawn to handle pickup, preparation and burial. Paid several large payments, including ******* for marker. Gravesite still has no marker. AND I am still receiving past due bills. Made MANY attempts to contact, have sat in person with staff, NO resolutions of any type made. My payment history looks very shady, with credits and debits I am unaware of. After approx 32 months, still have NO Marker, Still receiving past due billing. Very frustrated, but hands are tied at this point. I have exhausted all means to fix or even understand the problems. Please Please help me. I would very much like my husband's marker delivered and I cannot afford to have this account go to a collections agency.

    My niece, ******************************, died March 21, 2023. Within a couple of days, we, her family, purchased a grave marker to be placed on her grave. *******, funeral staff member, said that the marker would be delivered in 1-2 months. He promised to keep the family informed as to the status of the marker. He has NEVER called with any information. At the beginning of July, I contacted him and he said that the marker was scheduled to be shipped July 7, 2023. I called July 10 to inquire about the marker. ******* is never available to speak on the phone and will not return my phone calls. I have asked to speak to the cemetery manager, *****, and he is never available and will not return my calls. There is NO recourse for families in this situation. The cemetery requires payment in FULL before ordering the marker. Once they have your money, they ignore you. I am not sure that we will ever get the marker and if it will ever be installed.

    Montlawn Cemetery has not installed the date of death scroll on my mothers headstone in 9 months. We paid $634.18 for a date of death scroll on 05/19/2022 after she passed away 05/14/2022. According to former employee *************************, the scroll was ordered 12/05/2022. I was asked to give Montlawn (another) 90 days to receive and install the scroll. When I contacted ************** 03/03/2023 after the 90 days had expired, he advised he had resigned from the company and told me there are HUNDREDS of clients in the same situation. I fully expect Montlawn to resolve this issue ASAP. The scroll was paid for in full, took 7 MONTHS to order?? and still has not been installed? Montlawns behavior is disrespectful to the deceased and the grieving families.

    My mother died on January 6, 2022 and here we sit, one year later, and they still have not installed the date of death scroll at her gravesite.
    They were insistent on being paid in full for services prior to burial, $2340.43 of which $599.00 was for the DoD scroll. I had no problem with doing so due to the nature of the business. But if someone insists that you pay them for a product/service, they have an obligation to provide that service in a timely manner.
    I have made repeated calls over the last year and even drove 3 hours to talk with someone in person in November but they had no one that could/would meet with me. When I have reached someone besides the receptionist, I get excuses and promises that are unfulfilled. They say they the order was never placed or they have had a turnover in management or they will research it and call me back with a date that it will be installed, etc. Every time I talk with someone, it is a new excuse.
    I thought my experience might have been an exception but after reading reviews, it seems sloppy business practices and poor customer service, if not downright dishonesty, are the norm for Montlawn. At this point, I just want them to refund my $599 so that I can order the promised marker and have it installed .
