On January 15, 2024 I paid deposit of $587. 35 on a carport installation onto my property. In my initial conversation (01/12/24) with the agent ********** was told that I would be responsible to pay to pull the permit myself if one is required. He said that Carport Central would check and let me know if I need to pull the permit and that Carport Central will provide me with all the paperwork required if a pull is needed. Several days later since he asked for the deposit I assumed the company had determined that a permit pull was not required.After a few days I decided to double check if a permit pull was required. I went to the ***************** of ********************** He informed me that the building plans were in violation of the county's Zoning Ordinance and the structure could not be built. The Zoning Ordinance requires the carport be:--10 feet from the principal dwelling. (Mine was going against my house.) --3 feet from all other lot lines. (Mine was going to be 6 inches.)I don't have space on my property to adjust to these two requirements. I immediately got in touch with **** and asked for a refund for my deposit. He asked for a copy of the Zoning Ordinance for carports in my county which I provided to him. Several days later I got a call from another agent from Carport Central who said a refund has been denied.
