My husband and I rented unit A4 in Sea **** ****** for a week. We checked out yesterday August 6th.
We are appalled that you represent a property and rent to others that is as disgusting as this one is.
We expect you to refund us at a minimum of 50% of what you charged us for the week.
We rented the unit under your false representation that there were 2 full bathrooms useable.
The bathroom in the main bedroom with the queen bed was not totally useable. The shower tiles and the molding around the floor and outside of shower molding has BLACK MOLD growing! It was disgusting. The shower also continually leaked dripping water which splashed on the bathroom floor making it wet and slippery. Not to mention there appears to be significant water damage to the sub-flooring. I DO NOT SHOWER IN FILTH AND BLACK MOLD! The constant water dripping was a constant nuisance preventing me from sleeping most nights.
After using the other bathroom to shower the drain was stopped up and the tub filled up with water and junk from the drain. This was nasty, other peoples hair soap scum and who knows what other kinds of bacteria! We placed a call for maintenance and they were quite timely in coming. They messed with the drain and thought it was freed but several days later it was backing up again! We mentioned the drip and black mold growing in the shower, he was not surprised by this, and stated the owner of the unit did yea they the drip fixed. So I suggest the refund you will happily give us come from the owners portion of the monies charged since he's happy to offer a disgusting and filthy property to rent.
I have photos of the shower with the black mold growing in this unit, and I'm happy to share on social media and the local news in the OBX. And I will be notifying all the proper authorities in regards to the ill condition of your rental property as the mold situation can have significant health repercussions.
