May 2022 hired Mr. Todd ******* from Triad Tree Pro Services to remove a tree from my roof and repair damages. Mr. Todd ******* took advantage of my confusion over insurance, took my money, and didn't finish the job. After charging over $13K to remove the tree from my roof, he took the rest of the money insurance initially paid out, did not order supplies, or return to repair damages, stating it was not nearly enough to get started. He further damaged my property with his equipment, was negligent about the removal of debris, causing strife with my neighbors and a complaint from city code enforcement, and has not responded to repeated attempts to request the return of my funds. A detailed explanation is attached, and further documentation can be provided if necessary, including copies of text messages.

Contacted Todd from Triad Tree Pro and told him I had a huge tree fall on my house. He came out and looked at the house and said he would be there the next day. He started cutting limbs in my driveway I told him that insurance would not cover that he said no problem I’m doing this for FREE. I asked him how much was this going to cost and he said 15-18 thousand dollars. I then told him to stop until I got insurance approval. Insurance called and approved 15-18k so he started back. When the job was completed I received a bill from him for $34,200 dollars. I then contacted him about it and he told me oh the 15-18k was just to get the tree off the house. He lied to me and the insurance company. He charged me $400.00 to trim my trees that he said he would do for free. He charged me $800.00 to put my tarp on the house. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY OR THIS MAN HE IS THE MOST DISHONEST PERSON I HAVE EVER MET.

I was told to get started on the tree removal.  I told the customer it will be a dangerous tree to remove and I told him it would take several days to complete the job.  I also told him we specialize in removing trees and dealing with insurance companies.  We were given the green light to start the day after we went over to first look at the job .. customer told me to stop until we have a second person to authorize the removal so I did.. we waited several hours until we got the call the permitted us to continue  to remove the tree off the dwelling.. I was asked by homeowner how much it would cost to remove the tree off the house and I gave him a ballpark range of 15-18k the adjuster approved it over the phone.. I reassured me ****** before we made the first cut I would not charge him anything over what the insurance would be willing to pay.  He told me he was nervous and could not afford to pay anything that was above what they are willing to pay.  I explain to him in writing in a text that I have he would not owe anything additional.. again that’s in writing..  we worked on the tree and had to remove it with our bucket truck in very small pieces- we used our material handler and every branch was either removed by hand or removed by a winch that’s on the bucket.. our crane was too heavy and it would not fit into the same location as the bucket truck would fit into.  After nearly 5 days of work we submitted the invoice and it was for 34200.$. He expressed concern over the bill being that amount and I once again reassured him I would speak to the adjuster and answer some questions.  I called the adjuster and gave a detailed explanation of the invoice and the complete breakdown of each line item.  I billed for the equipment used - labor and tarp to cover the huge hole that the tree caused.. the adjuster then said they would mail out a check. About two weeks go by and I reach back out to mr ****** and asked if he’s received the check. He said yes- I asked for what amount.. he replied 34200.  He then asked me how much do I get out of the check.  I said zero.  The whole reason why they mailed that amount to begin with is to cover the exact amount the invoice is for.  Then I reminded him he never gave me the deductible amount we normally charge up front and I was willing to waive that in exchange for supporting his / wife’s business of *********** *** ****** ***** *** **** ** * ****** ****..

he proceeds to bash me online and make negative comments.. the latest being the tarp

has loosened up and needs to be reattached. I explained to him it’s common for this to occur especially after a storm and it’s now been over a month since it was first applied to the roof..

I text him w a kind explanation of how the insurance would cover this cost to please verify with them- I’ll be happy to come out and fix the issue.. he would rather complain on social media.
claim was paid 100% by the insurance company.

no money out of pocket on his behalf-  we worked on this job for 5 days straight and had an excavator- bucket truck and skid steer there for almost an entire week.. we gave him our full attention and did not start on any other jobs as most companies do during a big storm (hurricane Ian)

customer was there daily to watch us complete the work.  Did a great job cleaning up also.  I did my part- my crew was safe and nobody got hurt and his house is going to be repaired.. in the end I feel like I did everything I said I was going to do.  I spoke w the customer and the insurance company and the bill was paid in full and the customer was not charge a penny out of pocket.

On October 27, 2021, Mr. G****** ground my 9’ diameter stump located at **** *********** *** *********** **. At the time, he told me that there may be some pieces poking above ground level that the equipment could not reach due to the height of the mulch. He also told me that once I had the mulch spread, he would return at no additional charge to finish grinding the stump to level. On that day, I paid him the $1,000 cost that he had agreed to for the work. I had the mulch spread and texted him on Nov 2, that there were stump knobs sticking up that needed to be ground. He replied that he would be here later that week. He told me that he was in a car accident and maybe the following week. When I didn’t hear from him, I texted on Nov 18 and did not receive a response. Then I called him on Dec 14 and he again said that he would be here the end of the week. He asked me to text him my contact information again so that he could let me know when he was on the way. Again, I stayed home waiting for him but I he didn’t show up or contact me. On Dec 26, I sent him a picture of the stump that remains also with my contact information. On January 4, 2022, I contacted him via his website contact page to ask him to contact me and to schedule the work. Again, no response. I need the work finished so that I can have the yard repaired from removal of the tree and grinding equipment. I waited to seed the lawn because the equipment would tear up the hill again. I found his business through the Better Business Bureau. I need the stump work completed by the end of February or a refund of $300 to hire someone else to complete this work. I would appreciate your assistance in this matter.
