On Monday, February 3, 2025 Chaudhry Shabbir Ahmed pled guilty in the US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina to conspiring to launder over $3 million in connection with a $100 million dollar health care fraud scheme. According to court documents, Ahmed conspired with another individual to represent himself as the owner of two durable medical equipment businesses—Dune Medical Supply, LLC located in High Point, North Carolina and Prospect Health Solutions, Inc. located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The business submitted claims between April 2024 and August 2024 for durable medical equipment that Medicare beneficiaries never received, requested, or needed or that the provider never ordered.
