I am an elderly woman on a fixed income and am being abused , mistreated as a renter and disregarded by SLT..On Wednesday, July 17, 2024 my toilet flap went out causing the toilet to continual flush. We had to shut the water off. I immediately emailed SLT Management about the matter because it was after hours. On Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 9am I called SLT since I did not get an email response.I was told ***** the plumber would call me when he is in his way. On Thursday, July 18, 2024 , I had to run an errand so I called SLT Property to check on Sonnys ETA. This female yelled at me that ***** is not going to drop what he is doing to fix my toilet. She then yelled that I was not a priority. Now, these people have raise my rent, refused to get me a working refrigerator, never fixed my leaky faucet I reported and now I draw the line at not fixing my toilet .

When we get requests for repairs we try to get them taken care of as soon as possible. However, we cannot fix all problems instantly so we have to do our best in setting priorities.

Almost always when a flapper is leaking and the toilet continually flushes there is a small gap in the seating of the flapper. The water slowly drains from the tank and the valve inside the tank comes on to replace the water. This makes the flapper a lower priority then an actual leak or other situations.Added to this is the fact that this property has two bathrooms so it was not an emergency and was scheduled accordingly. When we went out there to repair we discovered that the flapper had both arms torn off. I have never seen that and wonder how that could happen. Still the water was turned off and there was another bathroom to use. The toilet had been fixed by the time we got this complaint.

We never refused to get this tenant a working refrigerator. We sent out an appliance repair person to evaluate the refrigerator. It needed to have the coils cleaned and he did that. The refrigerator worked so well that contents were freezing. The appliance person volunteered to go out and show the tenant how to adjust the refrigerator. The real request is the tenant just wants a new refrigerator.

I have searched for a request to have a leaky faucet fixed but have not found any. All requests need to be in writing and we have not received any request for a faucet repair. Please email us about your faucet and we will have it taken care of.

Rents have gone up for everyone but this tenant's rent is still low compared too others. We could easily raise the rent by $200.00 and would have no problem finding a qualified tenant.
