Date of transaction 03/10/25 Issues of car started 03/28/25 Contacted the dealership to speak to **** and he declined to assist with an issue that was occurring with the car before I received it. He has made rude remarks and tried to cuss me out .

    Business Response

I gave customer my personal cell number to call during business hours because I was out of the office.

We purchased a battery for the customer because she said her mechanic said she needed it even though our vehicles are sold As-Is.

The vehicle was in good running condition when it was purchased, therefore, there was nothing for us to fix. We suggested a presale inspection, but customer declined.

All our vehicles pass NC State Inspection before we offer them for sale and a copy of the inspection is available in the glove box.

The paperwork that the customer refers to in the glovebox of the car was from 2022 and from a previous owner. We did NOT purchase the vehicle from that owner. If the transmission was failing in 2022 it would not have lasted 3 years. We had no prior knowledge of transmission problems. All vehicles here are sold As-Is.

To date, she has not contacted me at the office and I still do not know what the problem is. I did make a diligent effort calling multiple times to discuss any issues she had. But only received calls on my personal phone in the evenings and on weekends. So I continuously asked her to call during business hours.

We did invite her to come by to discuss any issues she still has. She is still welcome to do that.

I am rejecting this response because:

I had a personal mechanic to come look at the vehicle which he confirmed I have a phone call recorded where he had threatened me and harassed me . He just called me today to ask me to come into the office this has been the only attempt to say he will help with the car . The car paperwork shows 2023. If he calls me and being unprofessional and harassing me I will be pressing charges.

    Sincerely,

The mechanic came to the lot after she purchased the vehicle. We offered the ******* inspection before she bought it, which we offer to all our customers. As far as a harassing phone call, it never happened and I would be interested to hear it. The situation became contentious after numerous requests not to be contacted after hours and on the weekends. In previous texts, which I have, I asked her nicely to call during business hours. At that point, we would have gladly seen what we could do to help her. We were not going to discuss after business hours. We've been here for 20 years and we don't do business that way.

I am rejecting this response because: the messages Ive posted in the proof is the one time he has told me not to call him. Other than that I havent called him , Ive texted him and if he called me from his personal number its listed on his business card. Which I wasnt aware until **** said he would be calling me from his phone number. I spoke with him via text and hes indicated he will provide a refund because I have decided to give them the car back willingly . Please review the reviews on his business page on ****** im not the only person whos had this issue. After the refund and turning in the car we dont have anything else to discuss .

    Sincerely,

Business is refusing to refund the 200 deposit after I decided not to buy a car

    Business Response

    Date: 08/16/2024

The complainant is the wife of a gentleman that came in to purchase a vehicle. She was never personally at our dealership. On 8/15/24 ***********************, her husband, put a $200 deposit down to hold the vehicle until 12pm on 8/16/24. He stopped by in the morning and stated he still wanted the vehicle but would like to take it for a pre-sale inspection. The soonest his mechanic could see the vehicle was Tuesday 8/20/24. He never stated he didn't want the vehicle. We explained that we would continue to hold the vehicle with the $200 deposit until Tuesday and if his mechanic found anything that would constitute a reason to not purchase the vehicle, we would gladly refund the deposit. ************** accepted the terms and left. We then received a threatening call from **************** stating she was going to have her lawyer reach out to us. We tried contacting ************** to discuss what he wanted to do regarding the deposit but he would not answer our calls. Our customer is ************** and if he chooses to reach back out to us to discuss what his wishes are, we would happily oblige.

I am rejecting this response because:

    ************************** is the correct name,

***** came in today before noon and asked for the refund and was repeatedly denied that by ****. ************* has repeatedly called today along with myself with no answers back,

**** refuses to speak over the phone or listen to us and continues to speak over us over the phone in an extremely rude manner. I want my $200 deposit back on my discover card since no goods or services were rendered.

    Sincerely,

    ***************************

    Business Response

    Date: 08/19/2024

We will happily refund the money to **************. We have repeatedly left him messages for him to return our call so we can verify that he indeed, does not want the vehicle. We have not received a response from him. We have repeatedly received calls and threats from someone claiming to be his wife. She has indicated that she was with her lawyer and when we asked to speak to the "lawyer" she refused. All that needs to happen is we need to speak to **************. to arrange for a refund. The deposit to hold the vehicle was put on a credit card. We cannot refund funds without the card that was used.

    Complaint: 22152430

I am rejecting this response because:

This business is replying with false information.

************* repeatedly asked for the deposit back along with myself and have been refused repeatedly. ************* showed up to the dealership before noon on Friday as requested and was denied the refund in person. The mechanic had already checked out the car on the lot earlier in the week. So the statements the business has provided is false. There have been several phone calls to this business by myself and ************* asking for refunds and we were denied. They stopped answering their phones and we were constantly hung up on. We have proof of all of this.

    Sincerely,

HORRIBLE. BEWARE the folks are sketchy and ******. So feb I was car hunting, just got my taxes needed a car then was planning to move my family. Me my financee and my 2 year old daughter come and the car i wanted they tell me somone already put a deposit on it. Red flag. Why would you not tell me that info. I took a uber all the way from ****** to ******. imagine how much my uber was lol. So im like we need a car. they suggest another car same make diffrent model. I loved it. put my **** down, Then they dont finace tags so i had to pay out of pocket. so with insurance, down payment, tags. I spent a little over 2k that day. Drove off with my new car. excited becuase it had been about a year since i had a car. We get home, i run to the store. tell me why the check engine light is on lol , I call the next morning and was told since it happened the same day they would look at it. I had to go back there because they did not have the gps in my car yet. Which i thought that was annoying have to come all the way back. So i get there the guy puts gps in my car. I crank the car up to show there is a check engine. The light was gone. Now I know there are people you can pay to cut off the light to pass inspections. That is what had to happen because 2 days later my altenator went out, when i got it fixed the mecanic shop i went to told me the car looks like it has been rigged, there was a leak and i had to replace the battery. Today August 11th i am fed up and will take that repo on my record. As i stated before i got the car in feb 2023 i drove it for almost 2 weeks at the begining and it has not been drivable since then, Now its something with the computer lol i am dumb for paying these folks for so long when the mf dont even drive. When i was calling and complaing. The heavy set ***************** i think his name was ****. he was so rude and disgusting. He kept wanting me to pay for a tow just to tell me whats wrong when i already knew. He said i can see what wrong but wont fix it

We encourage purchasers to bring the car for a pre-sale  inspection to a mechanic of their choice. That was not done by the purchaser. When someone makes an appointment to see a vehicle, we do not "hold" the vehicle without a deposit. In the time that she made the appointment and the time she came in, the vehicle she was originally interested in already had a deposit on it from another buyer. We worked to find her another vehicle that she would be happy with , work for her needs and she would qualify for. Unfortunately, not all customers qualify for all vehicles. We offered to have a mechanic look at ******************** vehicle but we did not receive a response. We are sorry that we did not meet her expectations.

Tri-State Auto sold me a car that broke down in the first week. I was told it was the head gasket. **** said he would work with me but didnt. Fast forward its 4 months later with a car that doesnt work. I am never ever late but 1 time 1 week late and he repos the car. This place is fraudulent. I would not recommend to a monkey. I know of several other people that had car problems right after they purchased from here. There are also a lot of customers with ****** reviews similar to mine. I believe this place to be a scam.

******************* drove this vehicle for months after she purchased it. An independent mechanic confirmed that she drove the car despite it running hot. The damage was caused by continuing to drive the vehicle despite it running hot. We attempted to collect payments from her but was continuously ignored. All vehicles are sold "As Is." Unfortunately we have to repossess vehicles when payments are not made but only after many attempts to collect. Our dealership suffers financial losses when a car has to be repossessed.

I was charged $2000 more than the price of a vehicle that was based at $5995. When I asked the owner why. He yelled and stated if I can’t pay. Then He would have the vehicle repossessed. He called and harassed me 3 days prior to the due date. 08/10/2022. When I only had the vehicle for a week. 08/02/2022. When I asked why was I being charged $7995 for a vehicle that was priced online for $5995 and that I would return the vehicle if he refunds me my down payment of $1000. Since it hasn’t been 30 days of purchase. He got entirely rude and hung up on me.

Ms. ****** ***** purchased a 2010 Hyundai Accent August 2, 2022. She decided to finance with us, leaving us a $1000 non-refundable deposit. All contracts were signed and explained to her. The bill of sale lists how the price is broken down, which she signed. We have been in business for 15 years and explain the process and details of the transaction. Ms. ***** waited over a week after driving the car around that she did not want it. Included in this response you will find copies of all documents. Deposits are non-refundable and we disclose that at the time of purchase. Even though Ms. ***** had the vehicle for about 10 days and we were entitled to keep their deposit, we actually issued her a refund. We did however deduct what it would cost us to re-detail the vehicle
