I hired this private investigator for a child custody case on August 1, 2022, and they asked for a retainer fee of $2500. He and his wife assured me that they would be diligent about placing trackers on my ex-wife's car and would be able to provide relevant pictures/information showing that she was unfit due to her alcoholism problem. During the first week, I was consistently providing information on her whereabouts so they could easily place these trackers on her vehicles. I even sent them pictures of her car tag and then a couple of days later they asked me if the tag is a handicap tag. I was completely confused as to why they would ask me when I clearly sent the picture that it was not handicapped. After the week, they were still not able to place trackers and had no relevant information that would assist my case. I called and spoke to his wife and she shared I was concerned about their lack of effectiveness and shared that I was not going to continue due to my attorney's advisement. The wife advised that they were going to charge for the hours they supposedly spent looking for the vehicles. The husband was in the back upset about the attorney meddling and shared he was going to give me back all the money. I have tried calling them multiple times throughout the month and no one answers the phone. A month later, I have received no money back but a ***** envelope with three pictures. One of my ex-wife's work location, the second of where the car was being serviced, and the last of her father's car and tag. All three have no relevance to the case nor why I hired him. I wish to file a formal complaint due to their lack of responsiveness and failure to act on their word and ask them to return my $2500.
