We were warned though that ****** could be frustrating to work with.
We found out we were pregnant and decided to move to the country, but needed a bathtub added to our new house. After ****** came to our house and we told him the timeline we were on to try and get the work done before the baby came. He said it was all doable with no caveats and no details of what we would need to do to get started except he would send over a quote.
He made up a quote, we agreed via email, and that was the last we heard from him for 2-3 weeks until we called. We asked him for drawings and never got them until that phone call via text. We were also finally told we needed to order tile, and fixtures to have it delivered to our house and so we did. Once things were ordered he pulled out of the project almost completely saying they were too busy. Not only did we have to pay double shipping to return the materials that we couldn't have delivered down our gravel driveway, but he gave us no guidelines on hardware or build. So when we showed what we could get delivered to a new contractor we were told the choices we made are not up to code and useless. Other contractors also have said they would never ask a client to have ordered the materials.
I am now 36 week pregnant and exhausted. We spent so much energy, money, and time to get it done and have nothing to show for it. ****** ******** is negligent to say the least, and I wouldn't recommend him to my worst enemy.
Rawlings Contracting, LLC Response

I have worked in designing and estimating projects at no cost for this Owner since early 2021. The Owner has fluctuated from adding a deck and screen porch to a major addition to finally a bathroom renovation and built-in bookshelf. I have not requested a deposit or payment for any services provided to date. I walked through the bathroom renovation in February 2022, and with material coming in mid-April the project was still achievable before June. Based upon my phone conversation and email from the Owner, I was being instructed to wait for the bathroom until later in the year.
On April 12, 2022 I spoke to the Owner saying I was having a difficult time getting confirmation the cabinets would be done before June. The Owner responded by requesting the bathroom be postponed until later in the year. The Owner followed up with this email to confirm they wanted to wait:
Email I received from *************** regarding bathroom on 4/12/22:
"Hey ******, Just wanted to document and send to you that we are okay with the bathroom coming at a later day than May. If something opens up please let us know and prioritize us but we understand the busy time of year and delay. If we can get the bench/bookshelf done asap that would be great! All the bathroom stuff will just come to us, we will throw a tarp on it in our driveway, and we can plan for that in one go at a later date."
I hear the frustration by the Owner but feel the responsibility to delay the project was their own decision. My inability to get cabinets before June is representative of the unprecedented amount of demand contractors are receiving during this time. While one cabinet contractor was 4-6 months out, another was not taking any additional work for the remainder of the year. I communicated the delays to the Owner and was told the cabinets were the priority, not the bathroom as it could be done later. I was willing to complete the bathroom before June and the cabinets later, yet the Owner decided against it.
