As an active duty servicemember, Ive lived in multiple homes and dealt with many major appliances. Ive never had a worse experience than Ive had with Trane.I purchased a home with a Trane HVAC system that catastrophically failed just six years after installation. I later learned the system had a supposed 10-year warranty, but only if the original owner registered it within 60 days of installation. I had no way of knowing whether or not that had happened. And because it wasnt, Trane refuses to offer any support. This policy doesnt protect consumers, it protects Trane. And it disproportionately hurts people like me in the military, who move frequently and arent present for the original installation. I never received notice that I was inheriting an unregistered system with a ticking clock on coverage, and now Im left with a multi-thousand-dollar repair bill while Trane hides behind a technicality.Their customer relations process was delayed, impersonal, and unhelpful. After more than a month of back-and-forth, I was offered a token loyalty credit that wouldnt even begin to cover the damage, let alone account for the stress and hardship my family endured in the Texas heat while we waited for answers.Trane markets reliability, but when it matters, they offer none. They do the bare minimum legally required and nothing more. I will never buy from them again and strongly advise others - especially military families - to stay away. Protect yourself and more importantly protect your family, and go with a company that better aligns with American values and will do the right thing, not because they have to, but because they believe in their product and the services they provide.

I have a TRANE XE *************************************** my home. The control board has failed six times on six different occasions leaving me without heat in harsh MN weather. We have never had a board fail with other furnace brands in other homes. Friends and family have never had a control board fail. TRANE produces unreliable heating equipment that is prone to failure. This device has been a lemon. Trane customer service has been unresponsive and difficult to work with. The local **** contractor that did the original installation and subsequent repairs has been unable to get TRANE to respond to my concerns. If youre shopping for a new heating system, Don't get hit by a TRANE. Shop for a different brand that you can depend on.

"Nothing stops more frequently than a Trane". I have an American Standard unit that has a leaking evap coil. My AC technician said the part was back ordered. Fortunately the unit was still working after adding more refrigerant because it took 3 weeks to get a replacement part! So we replaced it and everything was fine, right? Wrong! The new evaporator coil also had a leak and it was worse! My ******* had taken a working unit offline to do this repair and couldn't bring it back up without a working coil so my 2 year olds room was without AC in 116 degree AZ heat!!! Is that the end of it? NO! I had also bought a brand new 5 ton single stage Trane unit to replace our other AC at the same time we scheduled the repair. The thermal expansion valve was bad on that unit which caused the condenser to short cycle every morning! Trane said the replacement part was back ordered but somehow we got a replacement part a few days later. Trane never provided tracking numbers for the shipments and we felt helpless the entire time.Overall I think Trane needs some major quality correction. I will never buy another Trane product ever again!

AVOID AT ALL COST!!! Their Warranty is bogus. I purchased my ** because of the 10yr part warranty. I have had my ** serviced twice a year since I have owned it, changing my filter monthly, everything I am supposed to do. When my ** began to leak from the coils, they turnaround and inform me that it is not covered because the coils are dirty. I explained I have the ** serviced since I purchased it, no one ever mentioned the coils to me and I do not know every piece of an ** and what needs to be done, as a consumer I trust the companies and products I purchase and the consumer should be informed of what could potentially happen. Apparently one needs to be an expert on everything because it is all about the $$$$$$$. Now they want to charge me more than half of what I had paid for this unit. It is all a SCAM!!!

I had the coil to my outdoor A/C unit replaced in August 2021 and not even four years later the coil has to be replaced again due to a leak. In 2021, on separate occasions the capacitor and coil had to be replaced. This was on a new American Standard/Trane Air Conditioning unit that I had purchased and installed in November 2017. As a loyal customer, I reached out to *********************************************/ ******************** on April 2, 2025 and addressed my concerns and was told my case would be submitted for review and assistance upon receipt of the diagnostic repair invoice which was promptly submitted. After not hearing back from American Standard/Trane and after multiple attempts to get an updated status, I was advised that my case was submitted to the escalation manager for approval. Nearly three weeks later after my initial contact with American Standard/ Trane I received an email from the case manager Surayya indicating that my case was being reviewed only to be followed by another email a few minutes later declining my case in spite of being told otherwise by another representative at American Standard/ Trane.I called to discuss my case with Surayya only to experience her rude behavior. Her lack of response and unanswered inquiries reflects badly on American Standard/ Trane. Furthermore, American Standard/ Trane builds parts that are low quality and poorly made. Leaks in these coils from American Standard/ Trane are a known manufacturer issue that is a common failure. They are not reliable and American Standard/ Trane cannot be trusted. American Standard does not care about their customers. Had I been advised and given the option to register my unit under an extended warranty I would have done so particularly when these poorly built and defective units continuously break down.

On February 28, we purchased a new Trane unit, and within a week of installation, it began producing loud, bizarre sounds. We contacted ---, the company that installed the unit, and they discovered the capacitor had failed. It was deeply disappointingand infuriatingto encounter issues with a brand-new system. This immediately made us question the quality of our Trane purchase. Thankfully, ---- replaced the heat pump at no cost. However, within a week of the new heat pump installation, problems arose again. The unit was making strange, loud noises, leaking a significant amount of fluid, and the fan wasnt working. Even after turning it off and back on, the issues persisted. At this point, we were beyond frustrated, regretting our purchase entirely and feeling like we had wasted a significant amount of money. We went without heat and air for 36 hours until --- identified a broken fan motor, which they replaced two days later. This was our second defective system in just two weeks. On March 12, I filed a claim with Trane seeking compensation. As of today, March 21, Ive been informed that the claim has only now been escalated for analysisnearly 10 days later! No timeline was provided for a resolution. This lack of urgency and transparency is unacceptable.I strongly discourage anyone from purchasing Trane systems. Their products are poorly manufactured, and their customer service is appallingly inadequate. This experience has been a total nightmare, and we are completely dissatisfied.

Purchased 3.5 Ton Trane AC for $11,873.00. Installed 02/24/2025. Quit working on 03/03/2025. Sure didn't last long. Sensor went out. Should have looked on here before spending $11,873.00 for this piece of junk.

Had Trane ********* installed on 02/26/2025. Quit working on 03/03/25. ********** came out on on 03/04/25. Said Trane is closed at 4PM. Said it depends on Trane when they will send a sensor to repair it. Hope it will get fixed on 03/05/25. I just got rid of a heat pump because it was a piece of junk. Now look like I just paid $11,873.00 for another piece of junk.
