Carolina Carpet Cleaning delayed delivering my carpet after a requested cleaning service. I finally picked it up 4 weeks after the original requested completion date and it had not been cleaned. Owner will not refund as promised. The carpet was picked up on Nov 9th. I advised Id like it back the week after thanksgiving so I could have the rug in the living room before putting up the Christmas tree. Owner agreed. I paid $159 via Venmo upon pick up. On December 16th I reached out to request delivery. He replied the next afternoon indicating it would be delivered by Wednesday Dec 20th. On the morning of the 21st, I asked for delivery and followed up again that evening. He replied that there was a delay due to a family emergency. Understanding that things happen, I offered to go to him to pick the rug up instead of him having to deliver. I followed up again on the morning of the 22nd and again that afternoon. I received a reply that afternoon and he agreed to leave it in his driveway to pick it up. I went to pick up the rug. Once I got it home and opened it, dirt and dust literally popped off the rug when it was laid on the floor. While I wouldnt expect all stains to be removed, the rug didnt appear to be cleaned at all. The next morning, Dec 23rd, I took pictures and a video of me pulling a pile of dog hair out of the rug with a brush. I sent it to the owner and advised that it didnt appear to have been cleaned at all. I requested a refund and he quickly replied, stating it was an utter disgrace and apologizing, agreeing to refund the $159 fee I paid. He advised he would provide a refund that afternoon. I followed up the next morning when it hadnt posted, receiving no reply. I followed up again on Jan 5th. He advised he would submit the refund that afternoon, but did not confirm and nothing has posted to Venmo. I followed up again on Jan 6th with no reply. So I paid $159 to have my rug held for 6 weeks and not cleaned.
