This medical facility billed us without actually seeing us. They refused to give us a bill for the "procedure" they provided though they claim there was one. We never saw a medical person or even went beyond the waiting room of the facility. They also sent the bill to a collection agency without giving us any notice. We have sought to understand the charge but neither the collection agency nor the facility will disclose to us why we were billed. We never received any mailing or notice.Business Response

My mother ****** ******* was transferred to this facility Haywood and I am being asked for her phone and Id which she will have no accessibility to on the **** she is on. Transferred there without informing family, which we would have objected to even if she consented. This business has Mrs ****** ******* as a patient, we spoken to her early last week. We have been calling to get information on her whereabouts. I called the sheriff department to file a missing person in ***** NC, Officer Green called me and told me she was safe and that's all he can tell me. We have not harass no one. This business is billing her insurance for service not given, why they refused to inform us of her condition, she suffered from depression and they unlawful transported her to another county without family members knowing of her situation. Mrs ****** ******* has a mental health problem and is not is her right mind. They refused to allow her to call home. I am wondering if she's alive. I am very confused about the treatment, by the way they are speaking.I am just concerned about my mother well being and mental health. Haywood Regional hospital keep saying she not there. We just received a statement from ******** the service was approved for 01/14/2025- 01/23/2025 date on January 16, 2025. I have a copy, also I spoke with ***************** ***** that state she was transport to Haywood Regional Hospital. This sounds like insurance fraud against the elderly who can't defend herself. They are running up her insurance policy as we speak. The business need to be under investigation for Civil Rights Violation. They don't have right over a walk in patient seeking mental health. I took mother in law to the hospital in ************* and they decided to sent her to Haywood regional clinic without my permission. I have not received any information concerning here well being and she need to be released from them. Someone called me asking for her credit card and cellphone. I am concerned about the situation. We have spoken to this complainant and given her the information that her mother-in-law has allowed us to share.
This allegation is false, and HRMC has received multiple harassing and threatening calls from this complainant to members of our nursing staff and unit leaders.
This complainant has also made a false claim to the insurance payor alleging fraud that has been investigated and unsubstantiated.
The "mother-in-law is not a minor and is able to make her own healthcare decisions. We cannot share additional information regarding treatment decisions that are being made between the complainant's mother-in-law and the providers caring for her without the mothers-in-laws consent.
This has been communicated to this person, and another family member multiple times by several staff members, including myself and the unit Director. While sharing the information the complainant's mother-in-law had consented to, threats of a lawsuit were made by the complainant. We have responded, as we are compelled to by our regulations, with standard language which was to have their attorney contact us.

We have not heard from anyone at Haywood Regional Hospital. We never communicated any threats of any kind . We just asking is she safe and why she not able to call. I will never call Haywood Regional Hospital again by allegedly false claim the I'm harassing them. My mother is unable to make decisions for herself. I am her caregiver for over a year after her husband of 40 years passed away. She have been making bad decisions with her spouse and her cats that all passed away. We have a pending lawsuit in ********* . How can she be fit to make decisions, when she took my dog outside 11pm and he got hit by a car and passed away. This is why I took her to the emergency. I was going to have the sheriff picked her up for transport. I never one disrespect the staff at Haywood Regional Hospital. They keep lying to me and want me to drive 2 hours without knowing what to expect. Mrs ****** ******* did not consent in her right mind. sShe can be lead ashtray easily. I apologize if they feel I was disrespectful toward them. If you family was *** and you haven't heard from her. You would be comfortable with that. If she not there, why they just said she is there and spoke to family members. This is untrue and misleading. If Mrs ****** ******* decided that she doesn't want our support, allow her to call and tell us to leave her alone, and we will leave here since you making decisions for her. fraudulent and criminally negligent but also severely dangerous in threatening. I witnessed in their care fictitious /fraudulent statements /false reporting and mixing up of patients/their medicine and Mistaken identity of myself with complete strangers entirely. I have crohns and had an appointment at *************************** when dangerously taken from my home and dog on two occasions brutally and terrifyingly so as a teacher who has zero mental health needs nor any criminal history due to grave false reporting and dishonesty within the local haywood community surrounding cybercrimes and felony identity theft/larceny etc committed by that of my neighbors as documented on camera after having followed the directions of that of police in other jurisdictions/employers. This has been domestic violence and Haywood Regional needs to please be investigated for fraudulent and criminal medical negligence /billing/fraud . I am an ethical and honest teacher whom has shared this ongoing with ********* ***** in ** and among many in ************** as documented in emails/letters. I was a patient of ethical drs in ******** and many and have never had any issues until those began in a mistake/ mischart by an OBGYN in ********. all ethical drs have been notified and I am very appreciative of your time and sincere investigation into the dangerous practices /exchange of money In Haywood county for fraudulent studies that are funding very dangerous practices. requesting all bills to be reversed for fraudulent unnecessary and dangerous practices /mistaken identity criminal intent by that of health care workers and credit reversal of all charges from June 23 and Feb24 reflected on my credit report . All those involved in care should be reported for their involvement and coercion. There may be some staff that are innocent bystanders yet aware of beyond criminal practices and use of dangerous medicines altering charts and falsifying documentation with fictional statements/mixing of patients.Business Response

I have been out of work going on 4 weeks now. My primary doctor referred me to a spine specialist and wrote me a work note up to the date of my appointment which was 10/30/2024. **** ****** was the specialist that I saw. Upon my visit, **** ordered an MRI and an X-ray, both of lower back, and thats literally all he did. I asked **** what I should do about work, because I work in construction and Im unable to stand or walk without severe pain. He said that without reviewing my MRI, he couldnt write a work note, he couldnt fill out my short term disability paperwork, he couldnt do anything. My employer is requiring a work note obviously, so I made another appointment with my PCP, in hopes that she would be able to provide me a work note; this appointment was on Friday, 11/01/2024. My doctor said that she couldnt believe that **** wouldnt write me a work note or fill out the *** paperwork, or at least give me a treatment plan to where I could return to work. She also said that she was unable to write me a work note because when she referred me to the so called specialist, he was supposed to provide me with the work note. So, today, I went back to Mountain Spine Care, politely explained all of this to the receptionists and they were courteous and sympathetic in return and asked me to have a seat and they would go speak to Andys assistant, *******. About five minutes later came to the window and said, I called you on 10/31, and I explained to you that **** would not say that you cant work until he views your MRI. I told her that I was aware of what she said, but I cant stand or walk without pain, and that I could go anywhere and get a work note based off of my symptoms and pain, and she said well, you cant here, we see people in pain every day. HOW DOES THIS JUSTIFY THEM NOT HELPING ME!? Now, Im probably going to lose my job, because they are unwilling to simply put the pen to the paper. Meanwhile, Im still waiting for my MRI to be scheduled.Business Response

A foriegn man called me on 10-16-2024 from haywood regional scheduling to tell me i had a bone density appoint for 10-25-2024 at 10 am. When i got tho the womens breast cancer center at my appointment date they told me my appointment wasn't until 11 am and i would have to wait until then. I attempted to pay two medical bills with Haywood Regional Medical Center (one of $232.56 date of service 01/18/24 and one of $80 date of service 03/19/24) for several months but their online payment system was down. I called and was told I could not pay over the phone but that they could call me when the online system was back up, which they never did. Eventually, they updated their website and payed the whole amount of $312.56 on 05/30/24 and was sent a receipt. However, apparently there was still some issue for their online system and the amount was never deducted. Instead of notifying me the payment didn't process (and I unfortunately did not notice it was never deducted) they sent one of the bills ($232.56) to collections but sent me a bill again for the $80. I called them just now and was able to pay the $80 over the phone with Haywood Regional's Billing Center but was told I would need to pay the other portion to collections. I am going to pay that amount now, but because collections accounts go on credit reports, would like my credit report corrected as it was the hospital's incompetence that cause the issue on my credit report for 1) not fixing their online bill pay for several months 2) when they updated to a new online bill pay it accepted my payment and issued a receipt but never withdrew the amount and 3) not notifying me that the online payment did not go through before sending it to collections. I have included an image of the receipt they issued, the new bill from the collections agency, and the new bill from the hospital for documentation.Business Response

Jan 8, 2024 I had an EGD procedure at Haywood Regional **************************** and received a bill account number ************** some weeks later in the amount of *******, I tried to pay the bill online but was told online payment was not available at that time and the website directed me to call a telephone number. I called the telephone number and was told payments could not be processed at that time but that a note would be put into my record stating I had tried to make the payment and I was assured I would not be sent to collections. I then received a second bill statement and I again tried to make an online payment and again was directed to a telephone number where I was again told payments could not be processed at this time. I have then simply been waiting for another bill before attempting to call again to try to pay. On June 21, 2024 I received a collections notice from Receivables Outsourcing for the amount owed. The issue is despite attempts to pay my bill I have been sent to collections. This is now the second time Haywood Regional Hospital has sent me to collections due to their poor communication and despite my efforts at resolving the issue and attempting to pay the bill.Business Response

I had 2 cataract procedures (each eye separately) this year at HRMC. I received invoice 201331003-0001 for $242.00 dated May 30, 2023 for the April 17, 2023 surgery. It was paid by check and the check cleared my bank on May 26, 2023. I received another invoice dated May 30, 2023 showing no payment made. I sent a second check on June 19, 2023 for $242. This check has not cleared the bank. I am now receiving threatening calls from a bill collector saying the $242 was not paid. HRMC sent an invoice showing that two payments of $242.00 were received and applied and then the payments were reversed by HRMC. HRMC does not have a local billing office and the ********* and *********, ** offices will not return calls.Business Response

On 6/28/23, the *** transaction was erroneously duplicated causing a debit balance of $242.
On 10/12/23, that posting error was reversed and the balance on this account is $0

We took our 13 month old to haywood after speaking to the on call nurse at mahec, they were worried he had Croup 8/6/2023. We were seen at haywood and were there about 4 hours. They did a nose swab for covid flu and rsv. All three came back negative. We were told it could be any number of viral infection to just give Tylenol or motrin. Fast forward to Wednesday 8/9/2023 we had to take him to urgent care in haywood County where they said they don't understand how they didn't know it was strep as his throat and mouth had blisters. Now due to him having strep the sunburn on his nose formed impetigo. So due to them not paying attention they missed all of this and my 13 month Olds throat was swelling up.Business Response
