I was notified by ******** I was allowed to leave my vehicle in their lot for 3 days before they would have it towed; I have a witness to this. The towing sign is very broad , and stated towing storage fee is between $25-$200, assuming this is based on weight and size of vehicle. I was charged $475.00 which doesn't make any sense based on their sign. Furthermore, I was given permission to park on Wal-Marts parking lot by Store manager on 11/15/2024 at 8:30AM, and my vehicle was towed the very next day, on 11/16/2024 at 1:15 AM. I technically am an "authorized vehicle" at this point and the sign states "Authorized Vehicles Only". My attorney has stated this was an an illegal tow and to request the BBB to speak on my behalf for a resolution before pursuing further legal action. I have called the company main number and cell phone every day since I was towed and they still refuse to provide me a receipt , showing I paid them $475.00 cash. This company stated they do not take credit card for this kind of tow, which a little unsure what this means.I literally came back from a Combat Veteran Retreat to better myself mentally and this is the thanks our great nation has to offer. My hope is I can find peace from within myself and hopefully this company shows integrity. If not, I'm willing to go the mile to be sure this doesn't happen to anyone else down the road.Business Response

To the claimant....Our company does not partake in any illegal towing. The signs are clearly posted at each entrance of the location. Parking is prohibited at this location and towing is enforced. Our company works with integrity and if the claimant had authorization he can provide a name and a letter signed by the individual whom authorized him to park there. Claimant has stated this to us however has yet to provide anything to us so that we can validate his statement. Pricing for autos start at $180 up to $500 depending on the weight of the vehicle. He was charged $200 plus storage, and administration fees which was itemized and emailed to him per his request. Please see attached receipt and signs that are posted.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
I haven't been asked to provide any sort of letter ,authorizing me to park in ******* parking lot until now. I'm requesting this company to provide proof the property manager or employee of this location requesting my truck be towed because this I'm certain this never happened. Furthermore the receipt shows a boot fee. My vehicle never had a boot. It was parked at 8:30AM and towed around 1:15AM the next day, per my video footage.Business Response
Date: 11/26/2024
The vehicle was left unattended and our protocol is to boot the vehicle first to allow vehicle owner to return to redeem the vehicle, once the vehicle remained unattended the vehicle was towed and impounded. As for never being asked to present proof of the authorization, we do not have the need to ask for proof, if claimant is self -assured that he's exempt from being prohibited to park there rather than go back and forth about the validity of his statement it would be just easier to show proof before paying for the charges and to eliminate the perplexity of the situation.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I'm currently out of town and cannot provide proof at this moment in time ,but will be able to when I return. I was advised by my attorney to first pay any outstanding debt and handle this after speaking with you. Since I was not getting a response from anyone when calling your business number , textint random numbers promising receipt of payments etc., I had no choice other than handling matters this route.Thank you,
**** Basile

I am truck driver from ****** on night of 25 sep 2024 I parked at ******* along with ******* drivers, at early morning 1 x** tow company driver boot my trailer and demand for $3000, police came n they all dont listen to me.1st I dont understand why they impose so much high price for this little thing , I request a lot because Im from ****** and dont have more ways to pay amount, then I paid $500 by cash and $2000 one of my friend from *** paid by *****. Most disturbing thing was that police officers scold me to pay more $250.that big tow company employee totally fire at me with words.and after that next day I got receipt for just $2000 , nothing for $500. I dont know what was that corruption or blackmail , I didnt have courage to talk to police at that time , I totally feel like 3rd nation immigrantBusiness Response

To the claimant...our company does not treat people as third world immigrants, we work with integrity and perform our jobs for the clients we service.. The claimant was parked at an unauthorized parking site where there are signs posted that are clearly displayed, "NO PARKING/TOWING ENFORCED These are posted at each entrance of the property that clearly displays the amounts as well. (in the event of violation) Apparently the claimant neglected to read the signs or just totally ignored them. As a result, his/her vehicle was placed with a boot to the rear driver's side wheel, which immobilized the vehicle until it was removed by our agent with a proper key which was removed upon receipt of payment for the violation. There ate warning signs in the parking lot that has been there for years and these signs displays that if you violate charges will be assessed at the vehicle owners expense. Claimant does not want to take accountability of parking where parking id prohibited and because he was required to pay the fee, he is now bashing and slandering the company that is hired to enforce the rule. Now he is choosing to file a claim via better business bureau as a result of his negligence.Customer Answer

After reviewing the dash cam and the cameras we did not see a cash transaction taken place. We also interviewed the agent on scene that day and he stated that he did not take a cash payment. Also when the recorded call was received from the claimant requesting a receipt he only stated that he was requesting a receipt for $2500. He then called in 2 to 3 days later asking for an additional receipt for $500 cash. It was odd that he didn't ask for a receipt for the alleged total amount paid during the initial phone call.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:Hi there , if they claim about dash cam ,might be there is only one cam on their tow truck , there were not multiple cameras all around there from x** , so thats why they cant see this transaction in their only 1 dash cam , secondly In their previous response they already mention that Im requesting receipt of $2500 , I attached screenshot. They already accepted this thing, Im also asking the same for receipt of $2500.Thank youBusiness Response

A receipt for the payment received was submitted for the initial requested receipt. We are not going to go back and forth regarding this. We checked the cameras and received the statement from the Staff and this is was we discovered during the investigation. We have nothing further to discuss regarding this matter.Initial Complaint

On 8/7/24 our driver woke up at 11pm with boot on his truck and someone from X** towing threatening a 2450$ demand and the price will go up once a tow truck on site. The only forms of payment they wanted is what scammers use. *****, cash app, apple pay so I stated I was calling the police while on the phone with my driver. We contacted the freedom police who I am calling again today as they showed up they did not ask to see if XXX trucking/towing has a contract with ******** Which they do not have a contract to tow at this ******** Per the ******* headquarters no towing company is contacted to tow. The officer just made sure things didn't escalate. I am assuming the PD must not investigate this being a scam which I am following through with the department. Per ******* I should be reimbursed my money from X** as they were not authorized to tow my equipment. I can also provide proof. Can you provide proof the the contract? As my driver was on ******* property. Pictures were takenBusiness Response

To the claimant...our company does not partake in any criminal activity. The police was on the scene at the time if the incident and if the Law for see that we were fraudulently or partaking in criminal activity the police would have advised that there was criminal activity going on and handled accordingly. We work with integrity and there is nothing that we do that is associated with predatory towing. The claimant was parked at an unauthorized parking site where there are signs posted that are clearly displayed. "NO PARKING/TOWING ENFORCED (this means temporary or long term NOT ALLOWED)
The signs are posted at each entrance of the property. Apparently, the claimant neglected to read the signs or just totally ignored them. As a result, his vehicle was placed with a boot to the rear driver's side wheel, which immobilized the vehicle until it was removed by our agent with a proper key which was removed upon receipt of payment for the violation. The claimant is writing a complaint regarding our towing company and has changed the narrative of the fact that they were parked where parking is not permitted outside of business hours.
They are submitting a complaint without taking any accountability for the fact that they have parked on a property that our clients and partners have requested No parking allowed. With that said, they are now badgering and making false and damaging allegations about our company, which is a form of slandering to free or deter the BBB or anyone reading the complaint of their wrongdoing of parking where parking is forbidden after hours.

The signs are posted and have been posted for years. We did not put signs up that particular night and chose to do fraudulent activity against you or your driver. Your driver neglected to take heed of the posted. Signs of no parking allowed towing enforced. Regardless, if there was a new police officer on scene or not, there is a letter and a contract on file at the police department in ******************. Our company is not going to risk our reputation or partake in any illegal activities under no circumstances by arbitrarily putting signs on a property that we are not warranted to patrol. You are free to pursue any action that you would like The facts are your unit was parked where parking is forbidden after business hours.Initial Complaint

I am the owner of the truck company in question. On the night of 7/30/2024, my driver pulled over in a ******* parking lot to wait out heavy rains in the area that could pose a safety hazard. The driver never left the truck after 1 hour, but upon him getting out and inspecting the truck to continue his drive, he discovered that there had been a boot placed on the trailer. The driver called me at approx. 11:26 PM to let us know that a boot was on the trailer but he will be leaving the lot because it was put on unlawfully as he were never told that he could not be there, he never left the truck and there were no clear signs stating parking was prohibited. In fact the main reason the driver thought it was safe, was because other trucks were parked there as well. X** called the police on the driver and first told him it would be $1500 to remove the boot, then the price changed to $1850 because the driver drove away.I called someone who refused to give their name at a number ending in 6708, the person then proceeded to tell me the cost would now be $2500. They were so enamored by my trailer that has an Amazon logo, they purposely extorted me for the extra sum. When my husband called to try to work something out and told this person we are a small newly opened business that is used to care for our family, this person was unmoved, un-compassionate, uncaring, un-empathetic and frankly very rude.We told this man a sum like this can break our business, he simply did not care. On top of that their payment demands are very sketchy What type of business demands you make a payment of that amount over Cash app or Apple knowing most people are not allowed to send a sum that large over these apps. The guy told my husband and I if "our brother was being held at gunpoint we would find a way to get the money".We were extorted for the extra sum because of the Amazon trailer we rent, this is illegal and I will be seeking legal action. We also have not received a receipt of paymentBusiness Response

In response to the claimant, our company has not committed any unlawfully act. The police was on the scene, and if there were any criminal activity involved during this event, the police would have handled the situation accordingly. There are signs posted at each entrance of the property that shows parking is prohibited. Towing is Enforced. In addition there are rates listed on the signs for boot fee and/or towing/impound incidents. The claimants driver neglected to take heed of the signage or just clearly ignored them to suit their needs.
Our company works with integrity and we are committed to meet and exceed our client and partners needs. They do not wish for any parking at the property after business hours. There are local truckstops for truckers to park during adverse weather conditions. The claimant has clearly changed the narrative and is forbidding themselves of any wrong doing of parking where there is no parking allowed. The claimants driver attempted to drive away while the boot was immobilized on the back of their wheels, causing damage to our equipment, and jeopardizing the damage to their own equipment. There was a rate increase for the destruction of our equipment while their driver proceeded to drive off while the vehicle was immobilized. Now the claimant wants to slander and badger our company policies and standards because of the negligence of their driver. There would have never been an encounter with the claimant and our company had they never violated the no parking allowed request.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:
Firstly, every single complaint against you is the same. Putting a boot on a vehicle is understandable, but the amount that you decided to pull out of a hat is ridiculous and exorbitant. Your business practices are predatory and wrong. Your driver told me and my husband that our driver would be arrested and the truck would be impounded if we did not pay. You preach about integrity but to threaten someone's livelihood and the way care for their family is disgusting. Your company was more worried about getting a big pay *** from Amazon than trying to mediate the situation, there is no integrity in that. I don't care what you say, the way this was handled is disgusted and you'll never get ahead conducted business this way. Karma is real and I'll pray for you when it comes to collect.Initial Complaint

Our driver parked temporarily at a ******* ***********************************************. When he was about to leave, some guy knocked on his door and told him his trailer was booted for overnight parking. This was at around 11:40am Central, Sunday the 21st July 2024. He said he wasn't parking overnight. At the same time a guy called ********************* called me telling me to pay $2500. I offered to pay $250 but he would hear none of it and threatened to call a tow. Long story short we paid $2500 just to unhook the boot. The driver informed me the guy did not warn him, he just knocked on his door to inform him truck was booted and we needed to pay.Anyways, we parted with $2500 without any tow. Now I have tried to call the company number several times to get a receipt which they said they would email during the day and nobody answers. My driver informed me the guys who booted us were acting very weird. They should of course! There is a way to do business and make legit money. This is predatory and great extortion. These guys need to refund our money for this illegal business by crooked individuals. Their trucks and drivers on FMCSA have a 100% vehicles put out of service and drivers too. That says a lot. I am rejecting this response because: Charging $2500 to remove a boot on a truck which you put on without even talking to or warning a driver who is doing overnight parking is Extortion. That is why you cant even pick up your phones or email a receipt when requested after your guy was asked for a receipt by the driver and saying he would email one during the day. You are real swindlers. The complaints from others are all similar. There is a right way of doing business. This is crooked. But make all the money you can. You will realize someday it wont do you any good. Anyways send our receipts!!

The signs are self explanatory; as stated before, unfortunately your driver neglected to read the signs or just clearly ignored them. Our associate that was on duty the night of the incident made an honest mistake by not relaying the request of receipt the following morning being that our offices were closed during the night of the incident. We truly apologize for the delay of sending your receipt of payment. A receipt will be submitted expeditiously for your records.

On 06/04/2024 XXX Trucking LLC. put a boot on my Semi Truck (SMR ******************* in ******* parking lot on ****************************************. I was shopping with my wife in ******* and asked if I could spend a night on their lot and was told that it was fine just to park next to a cargo container that was dropped in a corner of the parking lot, and not to park on center parking lots. There were additional three semi trucks and two ******* semi trucks parked as well. Around 2:45am. I heard someone arguing and it woke me up. I got up and walked outside to see an employee of XXX Trucking LLC. arguing with another driver next to my truck. X** employee told me that I was booted too and need to pay $1650 right away and that the tow truck was on his way and if I dont pay right away its going to be $2500 and I will be towed away. I went to my truck to get my phone and wallet and heard a loud bang which woke up my wife and made her jump out the bed. I asked her if she was Ok and she said yes but very confused what was going on. I walked outside and asked X** employee what was the loud bang he was laughing and said that it was the other driver being mad. X** employee behavior is very unprofessional provoking and rude. I tried to pay on different methods that they had with ***** which was pending and X** employee told me to cancel it and try again if it doesnt go through I will be towed. The tow truck already arrived. My business account was suspended access right away due to the attends I tried to make the payment. So I did $650 on Cashapp and $1000 in cash. Then he said he cant print me a receipt but in the morning someone will contact me and they will get me the receipt. I never got a response from no one. I called ******* today and XXX Trucking LLC is not contracted and on the board of towing company. Its PCR ************* that is contracted with *******. This is what X** employee gave me as a receipt and you can decide if this is a Professional Business.Business Response

In response to this complaint, there are signs posted at each entrance of the property of the location. No truck parking permitted Claimant states that they shopped at the location, this statement could very well be true; however the unit was booted after hours between 2:00 am and 6:00 am for unauthorized parking. The store closes at 11:00 pm therefore no shopping occurs after this time. XXX Towing and recovery is partnered with this location and there are signs displayed; PCR recovery is partnered with Lowes next door therefore the statement mentioned regarding PCR Recovery is invalid.
A receipt is provided for all services upon request to our payments email address. No request has been received, nevertheless a receipt will be submitted now that we have been notified of the request. 5-21-2024 Tractor truck and container was illegally towed from ****** parking lot. I have parked there for over a year with previous permission from ******. The claimant was parked at an unauthorized parking site where there are signs posted that are clearly displayed. In response to the employee at *****, we do not work in cahoots with any employee. We do not encourage or engage in any unethical acts.
Furthermore, it is misconduct of a police officer to provide any legal advice as they are on duty to protect and serve; not provide opinions or legal advice to a citizen. If the representative from ***** provided the phone number to the claimant of the towing company that is partnered with them to provide services, obviously the towing company is rightfully there providing the services.
If the claimant could have provided a parking pass or the name of whom authorized them to park, we would have gladly adhered to the redemption of their vehicle at no cost. Nevertheless NO PARKING/TOWING ENFORCED signs are posted at each entrance of the property that clearly displays the amounts as well. (in the event of a violation)
Apparently, the claimant neglected to read the signs or just totally ignored them. As a result, his/her vehicle was towed.Customer Answer

The claimant has alleged incorrect information. Our company has a partnership for towing services at the location mentioned on the complaint. There are signs posted at every entrance of the property stating "No Parking, towing enforced". The claimant could have very well shopped at this location; however our client does not want unauthorized parking after business hours. Our company does not scam anyone as we work with integrity and were only performing a service for our client. We would not endanger our company by monitoring a private property that we have not partnered with for our towing services. The claimant was parked on private property after business hours without authorization. Our agents that patrol the property requested a manifest sheet or a name and number of who authorized him to park long term after hours. He was unable to provide any documentation; therefore he failed to comply with the signs posted of no parking after business hours and as a result was charged a fee. This claimant is very disgruntle because they were asked to pay a fee due to their negligence of no parking on private property. There are signs posted at every entrance of the property described in this complaint showing "Towing enforced no parking". Our company name, address, phone number and fee amounts are clearly posted at each entrance of the property. In the claimants statement they only showed the signed that is posted by our client. {Walmart} They did not show you our company sign in efforts to sabotage us and to bring out a claim to favor their statement of some sort of wrong doing on our behalf.
My client does not want any parking on the property after business hours. Claimant neglected to take heed to the signs of parking is prohibited at this location. At the time of the violation the claimant never stated that they received permission to park after hours, nor did they provide a name of our partner/client whom authorized him to park. They decided to put a claim out on the BBB and note a poor review because they were upset that they neglected the "No Parking" signs and were asked to pay the fee for the violation.
Our company works with integrity and provides a service for all our clients. We are not at fault because this claimant decided to be negligent to the no parking enforcement at this location. We would never endanger our business by falsely stating that we have a towing contract for a property. The claimant submitted a payment for the boot removal and later fraudulently disputed the charges with his bank.

I am rejecting this response because: The facts I stated are true and correct. XXX Trucking has no agreement with ******* at this location and is not allowed to operate on their premises. I was hoping to resolve this issue amicably without taking this complaint to the next level. There is not a single sign posted in *******'s private parking lot identifying XXX Trucking as the responding tow service for booting or towing as required by local ordinance.Business Response

We are not going to go back and forth regarding this incident. As stated before we do have a partnership with this location for towing services. We are not going to jeopardize or endanger our company by working or servicing a property without authorization. Our signs were posted at the time of the occurrence and the claimant ignored the signs of no parking, towing enforced and this is why they were immobilized and required to pay the fee. The claimant was not authorized to park on the property as our client prohibits parking after business hours.
This was no scam, as our company does not engage in any criminal activity. We service many properties and we have no reason to single out this location or any location to perform any type of criminal activity. The claimant was wrong for parking on the property where parking is prohibited. The signs are clearly posted.
