    Dear Crescent Communities,I am submitting this complaint regarding my experience as a resident at ****************, a property you own and that is managed by *******. I moved in approximately 12 months ago and have since encountered significant issues that have impacted both my health and quality of life, most notably due to mold exposure stemming from construction-related defects and a prolonged failure to remediate.Despite multiple notifications, the propertys maintenance manager, ***** ******, delayed addressing the issue for nearly six months. During that time, he attempted to conceal the mold by painting over the damage instead of resolving it properly. When eventually compelled to act, there was no ongoing oversight by licensed professionals and failed to obtain proper permits. As a result, the work was not up to code or the standard present when I moved in. Continued exposure during this period triggered a dormant autoimmune condition and other health issues.I have attempted to resolve this directly with *******, but they have been unwilling to take responsibility. I have since filed complaints with state and federal regulatory agencies and am preparing legal filings if the matter is not resolved.I am reaching out to Crescent Communities directly in the hope that, as owner, you will take this issue seriously. Mr. ******** conduct poses both a health risk and a liability concern. While he is well liked due to his charisma, he has shown a dangerous lack of judgment and ability beyond basic handyman tasks. This would be less concerning if he acknowledged his limits, but unfortunately he does not.I am seeking a fair resolution, including compensation for the disruption to my health and business, and appropriate action regarding the individual responsible.     I am filing a formal complaint against **************** in *****, ** regarding my negative experience with their property management services. I applied for a unit on July 9, 2024, and while I was approved, my experience was marred by consistent delays and issues that were beyond my control. From the beginning, the property management team made errors, starting with incorrect lease information inputted into their system. Once I was finally added to their system, there were discrepancies in the financial information, which took weeks to correct. These delays ultimately hindered my ability to move into the property.Despite my constant follow-ups, I had to stay on top of management to resolve the issues, but ultimately, I was unable to move in. Upon further research and reading online reviews, I discovered that these practices are common for this company. Reviews from other potential residents highlighted that this company routinely commits to refunds for administrative errors but fails to follow through. Additionally, they have been reported for operating with racial bias, unprofessionalism, and dishonesty. Unfortunately, my experience aligns with these reviews.Despite my attempts to resolve this amicably, the company has continued to ignore my requests for a resolution, forcing me to take this step to file a complaint.     My partner (*******************) and I were charged a fully refundable deposit of $1,000 while applying for and apartment. We chose to terminate our application process and requested the refund on December 14th with ************************* of ******************, ****** ** (see attachments.) He informed ** that our refund would be processed the following day and the check would arrive via mail in 4 to 6 weeks. We received no check in the mail so we followed up and this time we were put in contact with ***** Hill of ******************, ****** **. We confirmed our address (********************************************************) and ***** confirmed that the check had been resent yet we still received nothing. Since then we have reach out to both ******* and ***** and we havent received a response from either of them (see attachments.)We are contacting the BBB in hopes that our $1,000 refund check will be delivered to us, thank you.
