    I'm writing on behalf of my 82-year-old mother, who has had the same landline phone number for over 50 years. That number suddenly stopped working last week. When she called Brightspeed to report the issue, she was told to "restart her modem" despite the fact that it's a traditional landline, with no modem involved.They claimed they'd send a technician. No one ever showed up. Instead, they mailed her a modem she didnt need. My brother, trying to help, set it up anyway of course it didnt work. He spent hours on the phone with Brightspeed over multiple days, repeatedly being told the issue would be resolved "by the end of the day."Then, without warning, Brightspeed cancelled her account.Let me be clear: after 50 years of uninterrupted service and never missing a single payment, they flat-out cancelled her account while claiming the issue was being worked ***** reinstate it, she was forced to undergo a credit check and pay a $60 deposit as if she were some unreliable customer, rather than a loyal one who had been failed by the company at every turn.They claim theyll be able to restore her original phone number again, one shes had for half a century but at this point, we have zero confidence in anything they say.This is outrageous. Brightspeeds treatment of elderly customers is not just unacceptable its dangerous. What would have happened if my mother didnt have a cell phone? What if she had no family to advocate for her or navigate this bureaucratic disaster?Brightspeed needs to be held accountable. This isnt just bad customer service this is negligence.

    Brightspeed is the worst phone service provider I have had over my 70 years of life. They schedule you appointment 45 days out and when technician do show up they don't see the problem or don't know how to fix it. So I am paying *********** for no phone service. All the reviews I have read are bad to worst customer service they ever had to deal with.

    If i could leave no stars i would. I have been rescheduled 15 times and NOBODY will come out and fix my internet. I have proof from 2 months ago and everyday after that ive been trying to get internet but its an excuse every single time!!!!

    Since Hurricane ****** made her way to ********* ******** in September of 2024, my aunts phone line has been laying in our driveway. I think it is supposed to be buried. It runs a great portion of our driveway and goes across 2 other driveways. We can't mow where the line is. Our driveway is wooded. I am deathly allergic to bees. Since we can't mow or trim where the line is, I can't be out near the driveway because if bees have decided to nest, I run the risk of being stung. Also, since this line crosses 2 other driveways, it is constantly being ran over. My aunt has had numerous outages since the line has been laying in the driveway. We have contacted Brightspeed NUMEROUS times to explain the problem. Brightspeed always says they will send someone, but it will be 14 business days before they can get there. When the 14 business days come and go without someone coming - Brightspeed tells me that they will create a new ticket and it will be another 14 business days before someone comes. In the event that a technician does come out - they look at the line, they take pictures, they assure us that the line isn't supposed to be there and then they leave and don't come back. I have asked for contact information for a manager or the corporate office so that I can try to get this resolved. No one can provide a phone number or a name to contact. I am desperate at this point. If I get bee stung and have a reaction, do I have a case for compensation? I have documentation of all the times I have contacted Brightspeed regarding this is***. If i get bee stung and die from the reaction, can my family *** Brightspeed for wrongful death? This has to be the worst company that I have EVER dealt with to resolve an is***.

    Bright speed has been trying to get us to change our line from copper to optic even though we were not having any problems with our service. They repeatedly called and came to our house promoting their service. We were in discussion about a dispute with our payment options. Mind you we weren't in arrears with our bills. on august 20th a service person disconnected our land line from the pole with no warning or notification they were doing so. I get very important calls on this line. I called they are sending someone to turn our line back on the 25th. Only if we change our service. I feel they bullied and harassed us to. Such a degree that they forced the issue by disconnecting our line.

    This is the worst companies I have dealt with. Sent a 3rd party team, dug up my yard (without NOTICE), and my neighbor's yards (one was the wrong yard as they thought it was mine). Then CUT my current service at end of day. I called the services # and they told me my order would take ETA of 2 weeks but to call my current provide to reconnect my service. Current provider comes out at 730 am to tell me they will have to send a team out to FIX THIS with NO ***. I work from home. I call to terminate installation only for the lady to try and sell me more services.

    They took out of my checking account 229 dollars and I waited 3 to 5 days and its still not in my account. They are giving me the runaround about my money.

    This company suspended account when I paid well over the amount needed to not have it suspended, complete joke of a company and quite honestly I will never use their service again

    I would leave a negative 10 stars if there was one. I'm tired of this internet service not working half the time. Now they are charging me twice for August and tried telling me that August 2 was for July and August 7th is for September. I call ********. I have always ***** **** every month on the same day and only had one payment. And now for past few months I can't even see my bill at all. I click on button on app and it won't let me see my bill. I called and they said ask my mail carrier . ***. So I have to pay twice this month and they don't give a good reason except I have to pay after I use it I never heard of anything so stupid. And they won't give me a paper bill to view. Do not get these people. Never get anyone who even speaks good English and they do a be goose ****** I'm looking into going somewhere else. Tired of bright speed ********. Been with them to long.

    I lost internet and phone service on july 08 2025. Brightspeed agreed to send a technician on july 25 2025. On that day, no technician arrived. On july 30 2025 I cancelled phone and internet. On august 08 2025, I received a bill for the month of august for $40.05 (a credit of about $90.00) for services cancelled the week before. To recap: Brightspeed was unable to provide internet or phone services for almost the entirety of july, and then offered a credit for the loss of july's services on august's bill for a cancelled account. Avoid using ******************'s services if any other option is available.
