    I have been a client for years - my Annuity finally matures. I submit the Full Surrender Form as instructed. A week goes by and I follow up to find out I need to submit a Contract Acknowledgement form and photo of driver's license. Why you have to acknowledge you contract with them is odd. A couple weeks go by so follow up by phone. All is good please be patient. A week goes by follow up - well you request has been rejected you need to resubmit the surrender form. Why? Please may I speak with a supervisor to explain why its so difficult to get the remaining balance transferred. On hold and no one answers. The company is unethical, and I warn others to avoid ever doing business with them.

    B/H Financial is absolutely no help on the customer service phone. My annuity was stopped with no phone, email, or mail contact made with me after my wife died and I moved to a new address. I have sent copies of ALL forms to cover these changes as they instructed with signatures, etc. Now the customer service person **** says I need to fill out and return an 11 page form, most of it seemingly does not apply. **** asked me numerous questions about the annuity number, my old address, my new address, my social security number, even who was sitting beside me(!), all of which I have already provided on their forms. Once, their representative (Jun) even helped me fill out the form for my deceased wife. I truly felt like I was being scammed before the call was over because of their names and accents appear to be foreign.

    They canceled our policy saying that our policy had lapsed because premium had not been received even though I have the check they cashed well within the grace ******* Its been over a year of sending them the reinstatement Form twice and calling over 10 times. I still have not been able to get this resolved. Im finding a complaint with the *****************************.

    I will never work with this company again. I try to pay my moms premium online and they cant find her policy. So I call customer support. I get transferred around 5 times and they are rude. I'm finally told to fax in the *** paper work. When I tell the customer service *** I want to take the survey he tries to wait me out. He has me sit there for 5 minutes before finally connecting me to the survey.Weeks after I send in the *** paperwork I still am unable to pay anything online. I call customer support again and am told the *** paperwork doesn't matter they need to speak with the policy holder. They are not able to help me and I have to find a different way to pay the premium.

    Brighthouse ************** has the worst customer service!! I have been a customer with them over ******. I have always paid my premium. I over paid in 2024 (Over Paid). They cancelled my policy, sent me a refund check & the customer service **** could not explain to me why I received a refund check and why my policy was cancelled. I ***eated called to try to get answers, I was hung up on because they could not give me any answers. After months of calling, I finally reached a *** that explained that I was not able to pay ahead or over pay. Repaid Brighthouse what they said I was owed & they did not apply the funds to my policy & sent me another cancellation notice. I requested to ****/ a manager but never was able to get a call or response. 30-years & this is the service that I received.

    I am the trustee of my deceased father's trust. He had four annuities with four separate companies. Three of those companies have simple procedures to initiate payouts to the trust (including sending Trust document, death certificate, etc.). The fourth annuity is managed by Bright Financial. They alone require a Letter of Testamentary which is a court-issued document that grants the executor of a will the legal authority to manage and distribute the deceased person's estate according to their wishes. This requirements adds legal costs to my father's estate.This Letter of Testamentary not only adds legal cost to my father's estate, but it delays the payout process, and is not a requirement from the other three companies where my father had annuities. When I asked the Brighthouse representative if he could send me a copy of this requirement in my father's contract since it is not stipulated in my father's contract, the representative said he would not do that. I noticed in the reviews listed on this site that Brighthouse Financial responds to these reviews. My advice is to look at those Brighthouse Financial responses which include no contact information, no phone number, no fax number, and no email number. Is that the kind of company you want to deal with? And by the way, if you have an annuity, the payout department is not one of the options when you call their customer service ******* advice is to avoid getting into any contracts that might be managed by Brighthouse Financial. They are all about hassling you, delay tactics, and extraordinary legal requirements that will add cost to you.

    I have a life insurance policy with Brighthouse.. (had for 8 years) and when asked how I can access the account online, they said "you can't". WHAT?? What kind of archaic system do they have??? Does not give me any comfort on how my family will access the funds upon my passing!! Wow. And when calling their customer service #, they had to pass me through "several departments" before I was able to talk to a live representative (who I could barely understand). Seriously considering dropping them...

    They handle my Moms' pension. She is 94 years old. When we called and notified them she never received her Jan 2025 Pension Check they told us it was "Cashed" on January 6 2025. We checked her bank records and told them she never cashed the check. It has taken 1 1/2 months, several calls to Brighthouse, and 2 separate incident tickets try and get the check reissued. We were only able to get a copy of the cashed check, which clearly was not cashed by my Mom or at here bank. They now have closed both incident tickets as "resolved" and apparently have no intention of reissuing her check. Tough luck Mom !How is it my Mom's responsibility that her check was fraudulently cash before she received it when "they" send it via us mail? I am sure if you sent them a check for a policy that was intercepted and they never received you would still owe them money and be responsible and from reading other reviews they apparently "cancel" customer policies and keep all of their earlier payments when this does happen.

    Nice "canned" response from your lawyers, but as I stated in my original complaint. We called Brighthouse Financial representatives several times at they number they provided for problems, opened 2 separate incident tickets and nothing was resolved. I urge anyone to be cautious and take our review seriously and the many many many others I read on the BBB before beginning any type financial relationship with this company. In my opinion, their response is just another "misdirection" tactic to avoid their responsibility and try to get you as a customer to send them your hard earned money.

    ******* sold our life insurance policies to *** a few years ago. Ever since, nothing but problems. Company is unprofessional. You cannot have an operator in *******. Im waiting on the yearly invoices that have not shown up. I called a week ago to have them emailed, still received nothing. I did not choose this company and do not recommend to anyone.
