Order Information: Date of Purchase: 7 Oct 2025? Order Number: ***** I placed an online order with Vulcan Strength for five pairs of round rubber dumbbells, all of which were listed as in stock at the time of purchase. The companys website clearly stated: All pairs are currently available within the sets here. Based on that representation, I purchased the full set expecting complete fulfillment.??After receiving the tracking information, I noticed that only three pairs were shipped. When I contacted Vulcan Strength, they acknowledged an inventory error and stated the remaining pairs were out of stock. Despite the incomplete fulfillment, the company refused to process a full return and refund, offering only partial refunds or discounts instead.??I placed the three shipped pairs on hold at a ***** facility immediately after discovering the discrepancy. The items have not been received, opened, or used.Desired Resolution: Full refund for the entire order amount to my original payment method. Prepaid return authorization so the shipped dumbbells can be returned directly from *****. Written confirmation that the refund will be issued immediately once the return is scanned or received.Supporting Information: The website listing stated all pairs were in stock at purchase. The company admitted to an inventory error after taking payment. Only part of the order shipped, violating the terms of sale. Items remain unopened and undelivered. Copies of the order confirmation, website listing, tracking information, and all email correspondence are available.I believe Vulcan Strength engaged in false advertising and deceptive fulfillment practices by selling items they did not have in stock and refusing to issue a full refund when the order could not be fulfilled as advertised. I am requesting BBB assistance to obtain a full refund and ensure the company updates its practices to prevent misleading customers in the future.Business Response

Hi ****,
In a continuous effort to resolve this, weve issued a refund today for the two pairs that were unavailable due to an inventory error. As a courtesy and as a further attempt to resolve this with you in good faith we have refunded the full advertised price ($591.09) as opposed to the discounted price you actually paid ($443.31), thereby increasing the discount on the Clearance Dumbbell Pairs that were shipped to you significantly.
Clarification on the wording you quoted: the line All pairs are currently available within the sets here uses here as a hyperlink(meaning that you can click on here and it takes you to our dumbbell sets page. It is not a statement that the individual pairs you ordered were part of a set or guaranteed in stock. As a website is dynamic an image doesn't capture links. Your order was for individual pairs as it is listed on your invoice.
Regarding the three clearance pairs (marked non-returnable on the product page), we can accept them by exception, without prejudice to our stated policy and Terms & Conditions (which you agreed to at checkout and listed on your invoice). Under these terms we will:
Refund the cost of the product that you paid minus
a 20% restocking fee if not exchanged for an item of equal value,
return shipping (customer responsibility), and
any carrier return/storage/re-delivery fees incurred due to refusal.Contact us for the *** (return management authorization) number if you would like to return the dumbbells

I am rejecting this response because:
This issue remains unresolved because the order was misrepresented on your website and I am not interested in keeping any portion of the incomplete shipment. The line All pairs are currently available within the sets here appeared in plain black textnot underlined, not blue, and with no visible indication it was a hyperlink. A reasonable consumer would interpret this as a factual statement about product availability, not a link to another page. I have already submitted an image proving this. Your explanation about hyperlink behavior does not reflect how the webpage actually appeared to ***************************************************** has admitted the website was inaccurate due to inventory errors at the time of my order. This confirms that the in stock representation was false, and that the order was accepted despite your company being unable to fulfill it.During my October 15, 2025 call with Ky from Vulcan Strength, she acknowledged a mistake was made and confirmed that I was never contacted by phone or email regarding the out-of-stock itemssomething she stated is not company policy. This demonstrates a breakdown in customer communication and internal process.I have not accepted delivery of any of the shipped dumbbells. All items remain on hold at the ***** facility and have not been opened, received, or used. Because the order was misrepresented and shipped incomplete, I am requesting a full refund and will not be taking possession of the merchandise.Because the order originated from a false product representation, no restocking fees or return shipping costs should apply under the **** Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, which prohibits retaining payment or imposing penalties when an order cannot be fulfilled as advertised.Business Response

We regret the frustration caused by an inventory error that affected two pairs in the customers order. Those two pairs have been refunded to the original payment method. Three pairs shipped (clearance, non-returnable) were refused at delivery and remain with the carrier. We can re-deliver at no cost if the customer authorizes re-delivery before any carrier storage fees begin, or accept a one-time exception return under the terms below.
Timeline: Order placed for individual clearance pairs of Vulcan Elite Round Rubber Dumbbells (not a set)After packing, two pairs were found unavailable due to an inventory count error.
The customer refused delivery of the three in-stock pairs. We refunded the price of the two unavailable pairs (no discount deducted). ******************************start="993" data-end="996">Sets here is a hyperlink to our dumbbell sets page, not a statement that individual clearance pairs were part of, or in stock as, a set.

The order confirmation, SKUs, and product page show clearance pairsand the page states no returns/exchanges for clearance items. Terms & Conditions were accepted at checkout. The three shipped pairs are conforming goods

I am rejecting this response because: Vulcan Strengths reply continues to misrepresent key facts. My order was placed based on the website statement, All pairs are currently available within the sets here. The word here appeared in plain black textno underline, color, or indication it was a hyperlink. A reasonable consumer would read that as a factual claim that all pairs were in stock. Vulcan Strength has already admitted its website was inaccurate due to an inventory error, confirming the products were not as advertised.
I would not have placed this order had I known some pairs were unavailable. During my October 15, 2025 call with Ky from Vulcan Strength, she acknowledged that a mistake was made and confirmed I was never contacted by phone or email regarding the shortagesomething she stated is not company policy.
The company is correct that I refused delivery. The three pairs remain on hold at the ***** facility and have never been opened, received, or used. Because the order was misrepresented and shipped incomplete, I am not obligated to accept partial delivery. Under the *** Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, merchants cannot impose restocking or storage fees when the issue arises from their own error.
The non-returnable clearance policy does not apply to merchandise sold under false pretenses. Additionally, online reviews show multiple customers reporting nearly identical experiences with misleading inventory listings and delayed refunds, suggesting this is not an isolated incident.I do not wish to keep any part of this incomplete order. I respectfully request a full refund of all amounts paid without restocking, shipping, or storage fees. The items can be returned to Vulcan Strength directly from *****.

I ordered the weight lifting system from Vulcan in November 2023. It was supposed to be delivered around January 2024. It did not arrive until late March/early April 2024. My family was due to move to a new home in July 2024 so we didnt open the pallet of items for convenience of moving a few months later. I did not know that half the equipment was missing (and that there was supposed to be a 2nd pallet) until we moved in July and opened the boxes on the pallet we had. Come to find out, there was supposed to be 2 pallets. I contacted Vulcan and they opened a claim between them and the transport company, **********. There was a 30 day waiting period to hear back and what I was told is that Roadrunner Denied the claim. At this point, Vulcan is escalating the issue. However, I have a photo from a ********** representative showing they only received one pallet from Vulcan. I do not feel at ease with the continued delay in resolution. If ********** only had one pallet then responsibility should fall on Vulcan. It seems that Vulcan should deliver a 2nd pallet with the remaining items that were not delivered. Thank you.Initial Complaint
