We went through Carsmart as it was recommended by **** for repair of our vehicle. As recommended by ****, we received a rental car from ********** on 1/14/22 as our car was deemed unsafe for driving. We dropped our car off at Carsmart the weekend of 1/15/22 for repairs beginning on 1/17/22. Throughout the process we received little to no communication on the progress of repairs unless we initiated contact. There was a delay in the finalization of repairs due to the wrong windshield being ordered. We were to have received a new windshield through******, which we did not it was second hand (confirmed on our statement). With the delay we were close to maximizing out the number of days we could have the rental car. We talked with*****, the adjuster, at Carsmart. He told us he received approval for extension of our rental car from 2/11/22 to 2/14/22. We called back to Carsmart to confirm this and *** (secretary) confirmed that it was documented in their computer system. On 2/14/22 we received a call from ********** that we were to return the car. We were met with a $59 bill. We followed up with Carsmart (****) and were told that they were not responsible and we couldn't receive our car until we paid the $500 deductible. We did pay the deductible. We followed up with ****. The representative talked with*****, of which***** stated to her he didn't know we had met our maximum number of days for the rental car. So, we are left to pay the $59. Carsmart is not following through on their word/recommendation/confirmation that our rental car had been approved for extension. Of note, *** also told us during conversations that they've had problems with***** following through and with his communication. We currently are awaiting a call from upper management at **** and will be following through with*****. I would NEVER recommend this business.
