3/24/25 Southern speed Inc.,or also known as SSi performance advertises products and services, in a bait and switch scheme where he defrauds his customers. I paid business owner ***** ***** $850 for such goods and services, and after he collected the payment, did not deliver a portion of them. When I messaged him, called him, emailed him, ***** became verbally abusive, unleashing a torrent of filthy-mouthed cussing profanity. He even insulted my family, who had nothing to do with the issue please see attached transcript of his phone call to me on my personal number, as well as text, etc. It also seems that ***** ***** is conducting business on a revoked business license. September 1, 2024 I reached out requesting information on a tune for my SUV. I got an immediate response with a recommendation and a sale that was going on from ***** *****. I went along with his recommendation of a SCT BDX tuner and 3 tunes. Sent the money and filled out the information required for SSi. ***** told me it would be 2-3 days to get the tuner and he would get the shipping expedited. I checked in 4 days later to see if I could get shipping info, response was the 5th, ***** stated he would get with his distribution to get it sorted out. Reached out again September 9, response on the 10th was that there was a back order. I told him I could have one over nighted from the manufacture and ***** agreed to a partial refund. September 12 I got 1 of the 3 tunes I paid for, and was told I would get the other 2 later that night or the following morning. October 2 ***** said he would get my refund processed. I emailed with zero response Oct 4, 11, 16, 18, and 22nd. I called multiple times and left voicemails with no response. I am owed $325. I did not receive the tuner or 2/3 times I paid for. I do not want any addition tunes from *** or to ever deal with someone who would conduct business like this.Initial Complaint

Ive purchased three tunes from *****, and from the moment I uploaded them to my truck, I encountered significant issues. The engine began displaying check engine lights, and to my dismay, it went into limp mode. Initially, ***** was responsive and seemed eager to assist. He offered new tune revisions in an attempt to resolve the problems and even enlisted the help of someone from SCT. However, despite these efforts, nothing seemed to work, and I found myself frustrated and unable to use the tunes I had paid ****** the days turned into weeks, the communication from ***** dwindled. After 133 days of waiting, the responses became scarce, and the promised tune revisions stopped altogether. I decided to ask for a refund, given that I had not successfully utilized any of the tunes provided to me. To my shock, I was met with silence; my messages went unanswered, and ultimately, I found myself blocked. This experience has been incredibly disheartening, and I feel compelled to warn others about my situation. I urge anyone considering purchasing tunes from ***** to think twice, as my experience suggests a troubling pattern of taking people's money without delivering on promises.Initial Complaint

I paid *********************/SoutherSpeedInc.com $445 for 2 custom tunes for my supercharged **** **** Mustang GT. Prior to the agreement, I asked ***** every question imaginable to make sure he could do what he said he could do. ***** said he can tune my vehicle using data logs sent to him from my tuner. He said that my car would run perfect and it would not take long at all. He said that I would have no issues with his services. All lies. In 15 days, ********************* has provided me with 5 tunes, all of which render the vehicle useless. They put my vehicle into "engine fail safe mode". ***** went so far as to have my vehicle sent to a dealer to have my computer reprogrammed in order for him to complete his job. His website does not say that your tune file must be stock. However, my tune is OEM, stock from the factory, but he claims that it is not, but never says that this is a mitigating factor prior to the sale. He said that he can tune my vehicle using the data logs that I record of my current engine parameters. However, he can't. 15 days, 5 tunes, and we have gone backwards. I asked ***** for a refund and was told there are no refunds. This is not stated anywhere in his site. Nowhere does it say that all sales are final, even if he can't do his job. I was careful in my selection of who Inpaid for this job. I have all communications documented. He made promises that he could not keep. He made my car worthless. I then contacted a dyno shop in town. They provided me with information for free that had my vehicle running almost perfect. When I told this to *****, he said they did not know what they were talking about. He said don't try it, because it won't work. It worked! ***** is taking money from people and giving them nothing in return. This is unacceptable. I have been cordial and polite, and have asked my credit card company to place a stop payment on the account because I have not received anything in return for my money aside from 5 tune files that render my car useless.Business Response

This individual had a problem loading and running a custom tune that was made for his vehicle. It turns out after loading a few custom tunes the files he supplied were incorrect and he doesnt have a completely stock tune. He has a problem with his programmer and not having a true original backup file because he bought the vehicle used and it evidently had some sort of tune in it already. There are and were avenues to remedy this that were suggested by the device manufacturer that he bought elsewhere and not from us.
We then did file compares and starting coming up with solutions from the device manufacturer.
This is the response back from the manufacturer tech support- "Best option here is probably a dealer flash as the pcm is previously tuned for sure.
We can go through a process of having him load the modify stocktune to the pcm, then we can reset the devcie andlet it read the backup again. This time it will see our marriage byte and generate a file to send to us that we can set back to stock and reload to his device and then to his pcm to set it all back to stock.
The caveat there is if there is stuff changed in the pcm currently that we dont have mapped out, we wont see it and it will stay modified even after all this."When there are situatons like this we go above and beyond to work with the manufactures tech and engineering departments to help any customer. That is where we also go above and beyongd the scope of just providing a tune file file. We do not have to do that yet we do. There are and were avenues to remedy this situation for the customer that were suggested by the device manufacturer that he bought elsewhere and not from us. He became impatient and unreasonable to pursue this. We always find a reason solution for any customer having any issue however we cannot make them help themselves. Our terms and conditions are quite explicate about situations just like this. You cannot purchase anything from us online without accepting our terms and conditions. You cannot make a customer want to help themselves nor do we work with any customer impatience or frustration. We wish him the best with his project and were there for him. Thank you.

I am rejecting this response because:
The files sent made my vehicle useless. I was never told that in order for him to do his job, that he required my vehicle to be in any specific state. Furthermore, the tunes he claims I sent him, which he says are not stock, in fact are stock. I have had this verified by 2 dyno shops. SSI just keeps making excuses why their files don't work. I hired another tuner who did not have any problems and was able to tune my vehicle. I gave SSI more time than was said was needed. A day or two is what I was told. I gave them 15 days and 5 file attempts. I can't trust a $25,000 vehicles engine to some company that failed me 5 times, and is taking to long to do the job. He does not ever once say in any advertisement that in order for him to tune my vehicle that any requirements need to be met. He said it was simple and fast. Furthermore, for him to request me to take my vehicle to a dealer to have the *** flashed costs money and time, again, this is not a part of any agreement. He is not going above and beyond. He is costing me time, more money, and waiting for him I had no use of my vehicle. Funny how he makes all these claims, and I did not have to do any of that with the company I hired to finish the job successfully. I am merely asking for a refund because he has not provided me with what I paid for, and since someone else was able to do the job without all of the extra duties required for me to do in order to allow ***** to complete his job, negates the deal and renders his services useless. The car is finished. And it was not ***** or SSI that got the job done. He needs to advertise that all sales are final. He needs to advertise that there are limits to what he can do. He needs to advertise that he requires the vehicle to have a stock tune, and in my case, the tune is stock, so he is lying right there. There is no job for him to complete. I gave him far more time to do his job than he said it would take. And all the added requirements added fees and costs that made his price of $445 unreasonable. Had he been honest and made a disclaimer prior to my purchase, I would never agreed to all him to work on my car. I would not have hired him. He is holding my money hostage for something that he can't reasonably provide. The services have been competed elsewhere successfully with my current, and only tune, which is stock, even though that's the precipice of his argument. The tune is stock, he does not know what he is doing. I have spoken to others online who he has done the same thing to. *************************** is one individual who did this same tactic and *************************** never recieved his money back, hired another tuner, and was able to his vehicle running. ***** is a liar. He is robbing people. He is not providing anything for what we pay for, so a refund is in order. Thank you

It all started with me using a ****** handheld performance tuner on my truck.the tuner screwed my computer up .I called ****** costomer service and they wouldn't take any fault in the matter .they told me all I could do was call one of there tuners and pay him 400 .00 dollars to retune my trucks computer. The tune he sent me made the truck run worse than before I called .his language, his threats ,and the way he did and does business is not professional. I requested a refund from him and im still waiting.i will not install a tune he writes after he had threatened Me or my truck.i lost all trust after that.
