On December 11, 2023, I accepted estimate for $1100 with ******** for Springforward Fencing to build me a wood fence in front right yard of property. Not knowing that he was not license, nor knowledgeable of Memphis codes for building a fence on the property. ******** with Springforward Fencing drove a labeled truck as if he had credentials. I had no problems with his work, but his professionalism is wack!In July of 2024 the code enforcement came to my front door at 8am, stating that the neighbor complained about the fence not being in compliance with Memphis Codes of rules and regulations. I immediately called ******** the owner of Springforward Fencing to inform him of the complaint. He told me that it would be a additional fee of $300. I didn't like it but I agreed to pay the additional fee. I felt that the measurements not matching Memphis codes was his error. He had his crew to come out the next day to cut the wood fence down from 6ft, to 4ft. On July 29,2024, the code inspector came back and stated the neighbor filed another complaint stating the fence wasn't back from street far enough per the Memphis Code. Complaint stated that neighbor can't see into the street backing up.I once again called ******** to inform him of the code enforcement visit again. He was screaming and not being professional at all. I am the one that is stressed dealing with this error that he caused, because of him not knowing the codes for *******, He lives in *********** that's where he needs to do his business where he's familiar with building codes.******** stated that I want him to do free work, but this error is caused mainly by him. I just want him to bring this fence that he built up to Memphis Code without charging me excess fees for his error. I do not want Code Enforcement to fine me, or take me to court for his wrongdoing.

We completed this project on December 21, 2023. This customer was very happy with the price and outcome. I consider this customer as a friend and didnt charge him what it actually cost. Fast forward to eight month later, his neighbor call in a complaint to the city of ******* about the fence. I told him, we can come cut it down to the height they mention in the report. I charge ****** to pay the guys that work for me. He was ok with that. He call me again saying they wanted it 5 feet from the street. I said ok that will be ****** to come move it. We place the fence exactly where the customer wanted it. We dont have a problem coming back out to keep client from being fine. We dont understand disputing ******* when the service you receive cost twice as much. We will come move the fence for free for client can be in compliance with the city of *******.

On Sunday morning August 11, 2024, I had to hire and pay $150 for another person to come out to move fence. I stressed that the code inspector have been out 3 time already. I had to move the fence before Monday morning before the inspector made that 4th inspection. I take care of my 87-year-old mother that have a serious illness. I cannot afford to go to court for this for unforeseen matter on my behalf. I express what was needed from the handy man at Spring Fencing at the beginning. This man knows my situation with my mother and dragged his feet in correcting this problem. I reported him to the code inspector and stated that the City of Memphis needs to address issues like this immediately. We are tax paying citizens, and we deserve better.
