The truck is 300 miles away from my home. I asked and was told what was wrong with the truck. I decided to purchase it with those defective items. The seller was not there the night I picked up the truck. I left my truck for him to sell on consignment. I immediately knew something was not right about the drive train. MPH and tachometer did not match what I thought they should be while driving. Shifting felt wrong. I checked the transmission fluid and it was low. I went to purchase some and the key got stuck in the door lock. My only key. 2 hours later after getting my key out (taking the door and lock apart) I let the seller know there was a problem with the transmission. The next morning I told him I had checked the axle ratios and they were correct. The cruise control did not work and the automatic four-wheel drive did not lock the hubs. Prior to purchase I asked him specifically if the automatic four-wheel drive worked. He said he checked it and it did work. He didn't believe me and I sent him a video of the hubs not locking and the shifting being wrong. Turns out the torque converter is not locking up. He kept finding things for me to check. I told him that I didn't buy a truck with these problems and I wanted to return it. He said it was my truck and he would re-sell it for me if I'd like. (He later rescinded this offer). He says it won't cost much to fix. Says I have buyer's remorse. I don't have buyer's remorse. This is the truck I wanted. But, I wanted it with the problems that were disclosed, not with potentially thousands of dollars in repairs. Now I have to go back and get the truck I left on consignment because I can't trust him.
